AM - why not try for natural labour now you know the baby isn;t massive, and then if it gets too hard ask for a section?

That way you get the best of all worlds.

I think we're all scared of labour but they will help you. I don;t know if you have time but I am reading CHildbrith Without Fear by Grantly !!!!!!-Read ( I think, something like that) and it's very good although rather academic. Perhaps grab a copy and skim through to get some helpful bits?

THe gist is that we are built to give birth and our pain is mostly caused by fear, so control the fear and you control the pain. It was written in the 40s so it's tried and tested :)

I know the scheme is for under 25s for the testing round here but I'll ask the MW in a bit :) Worst case I'd pay for it to be honest - I know it'll be neg but now it's going round and round my head so I might as well get it checked :) the bloods they did at my checking in did NOT include chlamydia from what I can tell on the paperwork (odd - you'd think the amount of blood they've had off me by now they'd have tested for that at some point... well maybe they have but i can't see it...)
Had a bit of a snooze was so tired :( still feel tired but need to get hopping for my MW appointment... bah humbug

    Back later

Ah right I see, didnt know there was an age limit on it, Im not sure how reliable they are but Im sure you can buy a kit on the internet to do at home

Oh girls, what am i gonna do???????????

Want me to share some of my 'Looking forward to a 'natural even if it may be induced, labour' vibes?

All I can say hun is that just because it wasn't nice the last time doesn't mean the same will happen this time. Maybe have a google for this hypnobirthing lark, speak to your mw, mother, sister, neighbour, anyone who will listen.

What exactly is it about labour that scares you? Pain, how long it lasts, them not listening to you, tearing?? If you can pinpoint the exact fears it will be easier to deal with. It's how I'm trying to 'prepare' for if I have to have a section.

The 25 age limit is for the North West 'pee in a pot' scheme - sparkly I see you are from Cheshire so you would be same as me.
We have kits we can send out to under 25's in the North West to do from home but patient must be under 25.

MrsT - I don't think they can test Chlamydia from bloods anyway - either has to be urine or the old fashioned way - a swab.
Your MW will know and will sort it out for you.

AM is it the recovery bit thats bothering you the most?

My elective was easier to recover from than the emergency section, I was ironing 5 days after Ello was born and doing the school run the day after that but everyone is different so I don't know how helpful that is!

TBH the most difficult thing is getting all three of us up, washed, dressed, fed and up to school for 8.50!
