*hugs* Nikabella. I would still go for the scan - even if it is worst-case, the hospital are likely to give you one anyway as they need to check everything has gone (I didn't have the blood tests skinty mentions as mine was a "natural complete m/c", apparently). That said, when I had my m/c I did a hell of a lot of Googl'ing (not advised, trust me!) and there were a lot of stories out there of really rather bad bleeding and yet still the baby hung in there and everything turned out fine.. I know it's hard, but stay strong xx
I had a natural and complete mc too but they still did hte bloods - because they had no 'proof' the baby had been in the womb (scan showed baby was gone) they wanted to ensure it wasn;t ectopic, so they did the bloods. Guess it depends on the hospital. DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Oh dear, I think I might have started something by asking about benefits ... I'm sorry, I didn't mean for it to turn into a huge debate!
Believe me, I am still trying desperately to get a job (had another interview this morning), and I'd really rather not claim benefits if I didn't have to .... but it's a nice feeling that I might get some of my 20 years of income tax back!:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

Ah sorry, I'd forgotten some of the details.. Maybe I didn't have the test cos I'd had two scans a week apart, baby there then baby gone..0 -

just won Rescue Oil on eBay for £2.50 - saves a trip to Savers!
Got enough Bio Oil for about 2 days so hope it arrives quick!!
Tigsteroonie - don't worry about it! Someone has read the posts and posted on another thread about who we want benefits!

Yes, that was probably it. They err on the side of caution if they don;t know for sure the baby was in the womb, which I suppose is a good thing but it did drag the agony out for me over a fortnight. :j

And I know she's not feeling very well but I was all emotional and hormonal because of the midwife (rant to come shortly) and ended up snapping at her... She didn't seem to notice... It didn't stop the whingeing...
Well DS2 is off his antibiotic as it has given him severe diadiddly, the kind that escapes the nappy and goes everywhere (and the washing machine has went kapoot too). DS1 also has whatever bug it is too. You just feel like arrrhhhhgggggggg! at times.
Took a massive dizzy turn in the kitchen that actually made me gag! Maybe it was the spinning from sink to cooker several times?
Did I mention I get my 19/5week scan tomorrow? I'm going to find out the team too! My gut says girl but from the last scan I think boy. So excited, it better not cross it's legs....0 -
Ok, rant alert... Feel free to skip over...
Had my 34 week mw appointment today and was really pleased because hubby had the morning off work so it meant he could come with us for the first time!
Walked in the room, there were 4 midwives there... My own midwife, her student, one new to the area and a random spare one... My thinking here is that the random spare one would of been the one I would of seen as a stand in for mine but because the new to the area one was there my own midwife thought it best to show her face...
Spare midwife asks me how I'm feeling, I tell her about the pains in my back shooting down my bum that cripples me in the middle of the night and makes it difficult to walk at best... She just smiled at me...
Then the student mw starts to do the standard checks... I'm all for letting people have a go, but the only thing the girl managed was the pee dipping... She didn't stick the blood pressure cuff on properly, and didn't pump it up properly, so when she got my own mw to 'double check' 2 pumps and the thing flinged off... Everyone is talking all at once... I get instructed to hop up on the couch, so they can feel baby and measure... Student mw measures me, asking me to 'tell me when I get to your bone' honestly, the girls hand was so far down I thought I was gonna get an internal through my trousers! She showed my mw the measurement so she did a double check, obviously got a smaller measurement but was still way off the top of my pelvis... Asked me about extra scans, I told her I'd declined a 34wk growth and she started talking to me in a really patronising way about how they 'need to know how big it is' Maybe if she'd measured properly I'd of been a bit more accomodating but I was getting slightly narked at this point and said I'd wait until the next appointment and see what growth is like over the next 2 weeks... (I'm assuming it will be a completely different mw who might do it properly) Student mw then farts about for 10mins trying to find a heartbeat (while the other mw's are chatting amongst themselves, stood between me and hubby/Aimee so they had no involvment and didn't get to hear the heartbeat at all)
Then I get told they're going to take my blood for a 34wk full blood count... Which is great, but I've been anaemic since the 28wk bloods and nobody's even thought to look at the results... 2 different mw's stabbed me twice in one arm, once in the other... Then decided they'll leave it till my next appointment... Yeah... Thanks for that...
I was absolutely seething when I came out, it felt like a complete circus with everyone just faffing about in a tiny room, hubby was not only ignored but obstructed from everything that went on... And my own mw was so bloomin condescending, whilst at the same time acting like my best bud and like she's always there...
Managed to hold myself together most of the day but just had to have a big cry on hubby's shoulder once Aimee was sitting down to her tea....A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.
