Just came on to see how Nikabella was (so sorry Nik xx) and also to see if there were any birth announcements yet!!

Quick post, Im so knackered..been out with ds today, went to cinema to see Monsters v Aliens, pig out in Burger king then spent the rest of the day walking round shops. I have to confess something..Ive bought 3 newborn tops from Next clearance as they were such a bargain and there gorgeous..but they are girls tops. Ooops. If I find out in 5 weeks at my private scan that Im having a boy I'll be giving them away on here.
Can't wait for my 12week scan week today!!!
love my little man he is amazing :j

I never had the 'surge of love' with millie and i spent ages beating myself up about it but you would be surprised how many people feel the same so just take it as it comes.

I felt as though OH really got it and loved her immediately and that I was stuck with this 'thing' that I didn't even like very much, but you get through it and it all comes right in the end

And what krystal said about feeling weird talking to the baby I was just like that, I'm not like that this time though I took ello out in her sling the other day (its a clever one that looks more like a handbag than a sling) and I was chatting away to her, the number of funny looks I got from people who thought it was a handbag and I was a nutter!

BTW krystal the BF is going really well this time, thanks for your support, she was 6lb 6 at birth, went down to 5lb 14, she's 5 weeks now and I had her weighed today, she's now 8lb 3 so we must be doing something right, although she does struggle with wind/colic

We're going to get toddler into a bed over Easter - plan to go to Ikea next Tuesday (NOT bank hol Monday!) to get a single bed. The space in his room is very tight (the box room of a 30s semi) & Ikea's single beds seem a tad shorter than average ones - will certainly do him for several years. The cot will have to be freecycled (30 years old & very warped base), but keeping mattress as it's brand new. Hoping one of my friends with kids same age as my toddler can be prevailed upon to lend their cot - won't need it until after Christmas as bean will be in a moses basket to begin with, & their kids will be going on for 3 by then.
Woman who served me in the bank said "Didn't know you were expecting again" - I'm only 12 1/2 weeks & knew I was still a bit 'chubby' but still .... Suppose I need to stand straight & keep stomache in! :D
Still haven't told anyone apart from DH - last time we got a few 'at your age' comments & worse, plus want to make sure everything's going to be OK, but still hard not having anyone to talk to - nearly told sis today but bottled it! Got family event day after 20 week scan, so it may have to be then - broad range of family members will be there, so they can tell the others.

OMFG! Doing my head in already.. :wall:

Someone tell me why your 13mths old child being about to say "cow" before "mum" or "dad" is something to be proud of?!

Who's the proud person - not you I take it? My eldest three's first word was 'no', this one's first word was 'bye-bye' including hand-wave, closely followed be 'nana' (banana). They could all argue quite eloquently well before they were 2 - the one downside to talking to your kids like they're adults! :rotfl:

I think I might bring out my crochet tonight... I'm feeling inspired :) and also very aware that I spend an awful lot of time on here ;)

reminds me I still need to decide on a sling *slaps forehead* DOH!
There are just so many types! I dunno what to pick!

Just cleaned the kitchen sink - scrubbed it till it gleamed and now my lower back is killing me but at least I feel good about having a clean sink! :D
Roo is having another very energetic day/evening it would appear... zooming round and really putting the boot in - so much so it hurts quite a lot! Little toad child :D

    Evening all,

thought I would pop in and say hello :) Lots of *hugs* to nikabella.

Was busy at work today, so that passed the time quickly thank goodness! Now only 1/2 day to go and I'm off for 11 days :j

Can I ask everyone a question? (bar that one of course) ;) If you got to hear your babys heartbeat at the midwife appointments, which appointment was it? I was really expecting to yesterday, but didn't, and am slightly concerned that my midwife is missing some stuff out that she should be doing  I'm thinking of getting a doppler so I can listen myself (especially if I don't feel the baby start to move within the next couple of weeks).

I had a few niggly pains on and off over my stomach and sides today, so I'm hoping it is just the start of the growth spurt that Glamazon has been talking about :o I guess I tend to worry about things too much (in fact, I know I do!) and pregnancy is probably just going to make me worse :rotfl:

I think it may be time to stick the kettle on and eat the cream egg easter egg that is in the cupboard - anyone want share? :D
