Cross stitch and choc ice every time! What are you stitching, I have just finished a big project of a garden for my mum's neighbouts and have now started a snow white + 7 dwarves pic for beanies room. I love stitching in bright colours!

Just done some work for stitching magazine & when looking for summat I found 2 kits I got in payment for stitching for someone else, that I've had years, so am going to start one - they're both dolphin scenes. Not my usual thing, but they're shades of blue & are 'watery' scenes, which should go OK in toddler's room - he loves anything to do with water. Have done all sorts of things over the years, but fave things are designs with plenty of detail/backstitch, like Art Deco/Arts & Crafts style things, detailed botanical prints, not keen on cute things for self, but happy to do them as presents or for work. Sorry - can you tell I'm a bit keen on it! :D
Got lots of other interests & hobbies - that's why my house is a tip!
MrsT - my mum used to do loads of crochet & sewing when we were kids & would love to get into it myself. Elderly neighbour taught me to knit when I was little but not done as an adult. She made me clothes for my Cindy doll! My friend is an astounding knitter & want to do that as well - not enough hours in the day!
Off for a quick bath before repeat of CSI on FiveUSA - will start cross stitch & have choc ice then as well ... wow, what a night! :rotfl:

    See you soon,

    A xo

Hiya, I know you didn't ask me but I'm gonna answer. My midwife tells me which bits she thinks are which otherwise I wouldn't have the foggiest. Like you, I have a feel around and can feel bumps but no idea what they are.

Hiya, Thank you, glad I'm not the only one!

I'll ask my MW at the next appointment to explain what is where. I should have my next appt on Tues (28 wks) but she couldn't fit me in (she only has two appointments available each week!) so I'm having to wait until the week after.

The last appointment I had was the first time she'd touched me (apart from to take blood from me once previously).

Congrats on joining Team Pink Tia! Your pics are great.
Congrats on joining Team Blue Shelvis!

Labour vibes to SLS, AM and Feelie.

I had my 16 week appointment with midwife on Monday and got to hear heartbeat. I wasn’t sure whether to expect it, but I didn’t have to ask which was great. It is reassuring, especially as I won’t get any more scans.

I can’t wait for my bump to grow! I have been getting pains and slight aches around tummy and hips too, but I am getting impatient. I have been wearing my maternity trousers to work for 2 weeks now and I am struggling to keep them up. It’s getting embarrassing now!

    I'm petrified of childbirth

Me too...I'm reading a few books to try and calm me down and one in particular has been good (it's called Blooming Birth I think) but I am such a wimp about anything remotely painful. That's one of the reasons we chose not to find out the sex - so there is something to look forward to at the end of it all!!

    Hi

I had a scan at 23 weeks and thought she was still breach and she was...her feet are really low on my pubic bone and i can only tell from the movements that she hasnt moved...meaning they are the same as they were then.

I do have a hard ridge above my belly button which as she's feet down must be her arm has its about that width!! guess work really.

I dont have any stretch marks yet either...well no new ones, I did get them with my other two but i cant remember at what point...im sure it was before now but im using sanctuary body oil and hoping that will work x

The sanctuary stuff smells lovely, doesn't it.

I think my baby must be a wriggler because I never feel a hard bit in the same place really. Sometimes it's one side of my belly button, other times it's the other side and it's always a different distance from my belly button too.

I know you had a scan so you know your little girl is breech but can the MW tell from feeling whether baby is breech or not? I guess the bigger the baby gets, the more they can feel?

    Afternoon all! :)

Ohh err missus! :p Yup, that’s how I’ve been doing it. One straight bit parallel to me tucked in close with my bump kinda resting on it, and the other straight bit between my legs. My bump is all in the middle so feels like it’s got a long way to drop down when I don’t have the pillow there to rest it on.

    I know, I realised what I'd written after I'd posted it :o

I'll try that tonight, as my bump is in the middle too so I'm sure that's what's causing the discomfort.

On a more positive note, I met a friend for dinner last night who I haven't seen since the beginning of February and she said that I don't look any different apart from a bump. She reckons I haven't put any weight on at all. I think I have (will the MW weigh me if I ask her to at my next appt?) round my bum and thighs but it's nice to hear that my friend thinks I haven't :D

Labour vibes to those who need them!

Poor DS got a lovely goose egg on his forehead today. He was outside playing in MIL's rear garden, and he fell over, whacking his head on the narrow path of concrete - of all the places in the garden he could've fallen, it was on concrete, not grass! Now I'm a paranoid mum, checking him constantly! But he seems fine.

Baby has reached the point where he is moving a lot during the day each day, so the doppler is finally getting a rest! Have had some disagreement with the consultant about the blood sugar testing, but all in all, the levels are good, so I'm hoping they stay that way so I won't end up on insulin.

I finally have managed to get a bit of walking built up without the crutches and to keep a little exercise in - and it made the veins and such "down there" get all swollen and sore! Just can't win! (and yes, that was soooo TMI!) :p

    Shelvis - HUGE Congrats :T

Squishy - Oh now cheddars I've got some in the cupboard I'd forgotten about, might have a small pack now as a starter (before my cream egg) :p

    Rant alert!

I've offered someone an old piece of furniture (solid wooden old desk) on Freecycle and they've asked to come and look at it to see if they like it before they say yes or no - Am I the only one who thinks this is really cheeky and I should just tell them to bog off???
