Oops! Soz if anyone ran off to have runny eggs! Sami - you are an Oracle, a fountin of all knowledge. I shall only have them when I have Gammon which isn't very often!
I think we all know by now I don't agree that we pg ladies should avoid undercooked eggs but we have to be careful to just provide the facts/opinions and let other decide for themselves (see Krystal I'm learning
)
Guess what I had for tea....... Dominoes  Chicken strippers and potato wedges, ham, mushroom and sweetcorn pizza followed by cookies!! yum yum pigs bum!0 -

I don't even know why I'm under the Consultant - I assume it's cos Mum has Type 1 diabetes but no-ones actually confirmed this is why?A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

I've offered someone an old piece of furniture (solid wooden old desk) on Freecycle and they've asked to come and look at it to see if they like it before they say yes or no - Am I the only one who thinks this is really cheeky and I should just tell them to bog off???I know I would want to look and see if it was suitable. stuff like that I usually donate to our local hospice coz they have furniture collectors for sofas tables etc.

tinkerbelluk - On our freecycle, people often post photos of large furniture items, to avoid this issue.MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0

Thank you to everyone for your support over the past couple of days.
Sadly this bean wasn't meant to be & I lost the baby late last night. I have to say I was completely unprepared for the reality of what it would be like. There were a lot of tears but once I passed the baby I have to say I felt almost relieved, as it was better than the not knowing in a way.
I hope everyone has a healthy happy pregnancy/birth & that I will be joining you again soon.
A.x
So so sorry to hear your news. Keep strong and pop by to let us know how you're getting on. Hope you will be with us again soon, xxxx0 -

My best friend is pregnant - but she lives quite far away and we have the kind of friendship where we don't see/talk that often (but we are there instantly if needed!) I was lucky to be with her one weekend when she did her pregnancy test and at the time we couldn't figure the result - there was a line but so feint it was hardly visible. Anyway a few weeks down the line and doc's have confirmed she's preggers...
I'd like to send her a little gift - something easily postable - and wondered if there are any things that you received or had to buy for yourselves that were a godsend - particularly in the early days. My initial thoughts were a book - but then I didn't want to send something 'serious', then there are all sorts of baby ideas - but I feel its too early and also I would like to get something for my friend not the baby...
Thanks in advance
I haven't read to the end of the thread tonight (just replying as I'm reading), so not sure if you've already got lots of answers, but how about this book http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/1841724351/ref=s9_sdps_c5_s2_p14_i1?pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=17E3S01E6NZA9AHG4A3S&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=463374933&pf_rd_i=468294. It's a journal rather than a book, so not as serious. I have been bought one and it's a lovely momento too keep.0 -
Thanks for answering all: it sounds like I'm going to have to ask if I want to hear then  It was my 16 week appointment yesterday, so won't be seeing anyone now until my 20 week scan, but hopefully I will have started to feel the baby move by then! It just would have been nice for a bit of reassureance, you know? As long as she isn't missing anything she really should be doing. Oh well, something else to remember to ask at the scan then - as well as asking about my first bounty pack (the midwife had never heard of it before - only the later ones you pick up from asda as she put it!)
Uhmmm the bounty pack IS the one you pick up from Asdawell kinda. You get a pack - here you get them at the hospital when you go for your scan though and not from the midwife. I managed to get the first one twice from the hospital (with the application for picking it up from Asda) - one at my 12 weeks scan and one at my 20 week scan
So chances are they do it the same where you are as they do here and give you the pack thingy whatchamacallit at the hospital when you have your scanDFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

Cheapskate - you should try crochet
I find it much easier because my wrists get badly inflamed if I try to knit - it's the weight on the pins that puts too much strain on them
I taught myself crochet from a £1 kit and online video clipsIt's really not that hard!
