I'm happy with what they've said, I just wanted to know if this is 'something'. I know it could possibly stop or take a long time from here, but I know I'm not imagining it, and thats made me feel a lot better!:j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j0 -
ActionCat - (loving the name BTW!) Welcome and congratulations on your pregnancy!
As for maternity clothes, I am normally a size 18. The first jeans I bought were over the bump ones, size 18 - I never thought I would fill them, but even my quite small bump now fills the stretchy panel and they stay up no probs!
I can recommend Mothercare ones that have an adjustable band around, so you can tighten it up in the early days, and let it out later on. As for tops, I bought a few "smock" style ones in an 18 and at first, I had loads of room in them, I even thought about buying a 16, however my ribcage has expanded sooooo much more than I imagined, and they now fit snuggly. According to notes, cervix is 1cm. Googling, I think that means I'm 50% effaced, but not sure. All very interesting! They don't seem to do standard measurements at my hospital, they never comment on amount of engagement and things unless pushed. I like numbers and details!
I've chosen the carseat and base, and OH is coming home early today and we are going to pick them up later. Left it a bit late really, oops
And you are allowed to be a moody-moo. I don't know how I'd have coped with SPD and everything with a little one. I'm only managing because I can nap when I want, so you be a moody-moo, you are entitled!Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -

Well done!:T
I was a size 10-12 pre-pregnancy last time and went up to size 20.
I am only 5"3 so looked huge
Got back to size 10-12,hubby told me to stop there because I look awful any thinner.
Currently size 16 right now so shouldn't be as much of a struggle as last time.
Again,huge well done,youmust have really strong willpower!0 -

I hope no one minds me barging in unannounced
I'm only 15 weeks pregnant but as my clothes are getting uncomfortable I've been looking at maternity clothes already. But I just can't figure out how trousers and jeans are supposed to fit! I've tried several different brands but I find a 10 to be a little too small but a 12 feels way too big. I know I need growing room, but how much? Even if I stick my tummy waaaay out, it doesn't feel like I will ever be able to hold up a pair of 12s! For under the bump trousers, should they fit 'normally' to start with and then the stretchy panels will accommodate the bump later on? If that's the case, I have no hope!
Well I had this dilemma at the weekend- was in Topshop looking at Mat trousers (went ahead and got a pair even though I wasn't going to as though they wouldn't be there once I decided that it was ok to buy some-I am paranoid-only 11 weeks today and got dating scan tomorrow to see if jellybaby still ok in there) anyway I digress, tried on the 8 (underbump type) and were quite snug and that was with none of the adjustable elasticated button bits done up, so then tried the 10, and seemed massive. Once did up elasticy bits quite tight, then they stayed up (looked a bit weird though) then had room for expansion (I am thinking both front and back if needed!).
I though better have that room there than getting the ones that fit ok now with no bump then not lasting long, as I know that I can tighten the bigger ones up and they will stay up (will just need a long top to hide the gathering round the waist)-although would be good if they did inbetweeny sizes I think a size 9 would have been perfect0 -
I have just had my 28 week appointment with the midwife, it was my last one with her as she is taking semi-retirement, but got to meet my new midwife and she was absolutely lovely :A.
It's all looking good, i am measuring 29cm, heard heartbeat again :j and I asked midwife if you could tell the sex by the heartbeat, both her and new midwife immediately said yours sounds like a train (which is supposed to mean a boy). But they did point out that there wasn't much truth in that old wives tale though.
Hubby is now putting together the Cotbed and nursery furniture, he is so excited, bless him.Value of prizes 2010 - 2017: £8374 Wins 2022: Magic set

Oh yes, inbetween sizes would be fab! So, I guess I'll just have to look a bit bizarre wearing baggy pants for a while until I have a bump and my bum gets (even) bigger!
I have, however, found some fab maternity tops at Isabella Oliver. Very expensive but the ruched tank tops are so flattering even without a bump and I will carry on wearing them after the baby is born. They help disguise that bulging-all-over-the-place look that I am sporting at the moment0
