Oh yes, inbetween sizes would be fab! So, I guess I'll just have to look a bit bizarre wearing baggy pants for a while until I have a bump and my bum gets (even) bigger!

I have, however, found some fab maternity tops at Isabella Oliver. Very expensive but the ruched tank tops are so flattering even without a bump and I will carry on wearing them after the baby is born. They help disguise that bulging-all-over-the-place look that I am sporting at the moment :)

    Hi AC and welcome!

I got some maternity jeans off eBay - they were MODA mothercare under the bump but at the moment they fit just like normal jeans and the stretchy bit is over my belly button.
I have some maternity smart trousers which have the elastic in - so are all scrunched at the back but I wear floaty tops so u don't see it.
I'm 16 weeks and just bought everything in normal size for me - I am dreading July and August when I will be huge and hot. Shall be wearing long vests methinks.

I am so amazed at how many people seem to pick on us pregnant ladies - I seem to be having lots of rants at people atm who seem to think they are paying for me having a baby!

Asos do some nice vests as well at £7.75:

Think I might have to pop into H&M and some of the shops in town and see what they have. I just hate shopping as I can never find anything I like. Moan, moan moan....

Thanks MrsT - I don't drink squash so that's not it! He did really struggle when we went out for a chinese when he was 6 days old (he's a little socialite my boy!!) so I have steered clear since then.

Not long for you now!! Are you on Mat Leave now?

Nah I'm on annual leave for the next 4 and a bit weeks before starting my annual leave :D Just hoping the wee girl makes an appearance slightly early lol

I'm back from appointment. Had internal, not dilated yet, but cervix is soft and thin, and according to her, I'm very likely to be in latent labour! She said likely 24 to 48 hours from now, but MW was less optimistic and said I should be prepared for a three week wait!

Blood pressure was up (152/99) so went up to DAU, where it came down to 129/69. Trace was fine, bloods fine, urine fine. Some bleeding after internal and activity showing on the monitor. Exciting!

Thanks for updating us Feelie...so maybe latent labour? Sounds positive and at least you know what the pains have been doing now :T

Not so good news about the possible 3 week wait though

    Evening all :D

I go missing for a few days and come back to a lovely new thread. So let's get the catching up over with first:

Sami - Sorry to hear about the problems with your hubby, as everyone has already said there are always people on hear you can chat to. NEVER feel that you are alone.

fairydawn - Congrats on team blue :T

JVic28 - The GUM clinic is opposite the old CRI if that helps. They're very good in there and you don't need to give them your real name etc. if you don't want. Also better to get any kind of sexual health screening done at GUM clinics as it doesn't get back to your medical records etc .

Re you're booking in appointment - exactly the reason I'm going to the Royal Glam! No way would I ever go to the heath!

Tigsteroonie and Squishy - CONGRATS on joining the club

Leopardlady, Alibobsy and Nikabella - I'm not sure what to say to any of you apart from I'm so sorry for your losses

Krystaltips - Sorry to hear you had such a pants appointment. I know they're only doing there job and people need training up but sometimes I think they don't realise how important it is for the other people in the room as well.

Feelie - HUGE labour vibes for you

tiamai - Congrats on team pink :T

Astonsmummy - Sorry to hear about your OH. My DH is under threat of reducndancy at the mo and he's excited by the prospect (he hates his job) where I'm petrified about the momey situtation if he does. Hopefully your other will find something soon.

As for me, nothing much going on really busy with work but finished today until Tuesday so all good. We're off away for the weekend as I'm having my 4D scan on Saturday and I'm really looking forward to it. I'm hoping it'll help me bond a little more as I've been struggling of late.

We're planing on visiting kiddicare whilst we're up that neck of the woods, are there any other good shops around that would be worth a try?

I'm all for training people up.. I just think my own midwife should of been a bit more supportive of her student instead of just chatting to the other midwives in the room and leaving her to get on with it...

Something else that I remembered just while relaying the incident to my aunt... My midwife got my name wrong when I walked into the room and I corrected her... But she still called me by the wrong name about 6 times! Anyhoo... Probably have a stand in mw next time anyway...

Hope your 4d scan goes well... And I wouldn't worry about 'bonding' too much before baby arrives... I know when I had Aimee I didn't bond with her at all before she was born, I couldn't even picture myself with a baby when I was pregnant and I definitely felt like the whole world was more excited about my pregnancy than I was (I also didn't get that 'rush of love' the first time I saw her like everyone says you should)... But we definitely have a bond now... I couldn't imagine my life without her, I worship her!
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

    Hi MFD - how's u n urs?!!

Oh yeah and Bear - I am buying a cotbed. Found one on eBay the mattresses on eBay are much cheaper than Mothercare for the same thing and are new!

We probably will have another baby soon after this one but will cross that bridge when we come to it!!

Yes, I'm probably running before I can walk with this one!

    Thanks, for all your replies.

Sami - seen this BFP mentioned before, what does it mean? Loads of other abbreviations around, too, have I missed something? I lead a very sheltered life! :rotfl:

Hope it all works out OK for you & DH, haven't posted a lot last few days - DS teenage around a lot & still doesn't know about new bean, so didn't dare come on here!

Hello to all new parents-to-be, hugs, kisses, etc., to those whose little beans have sadly gone - hope you'll be back with us when it's time.

BFP = Big Fat Positive ;)
I actually first had a TLP = Tiny Little Positive one of those are my eyes deceiving me feint lines (that'll teach me for testing early lol)

and as for raw eggs - gross. Runny yolks - now you're talking!! (I know i shouldn't but a chef told me as long as the egss have British Lion stamp it's OK)
Right, off to bank and to get some din dins
FYI - the rules re not eating undercooked eggs DO include lion mark eggs - When I was preg with Chris I actually contacted the FSA and they confirmed that their advice is that preg women should only eat eggs that had been fully cook lion mark or not - not that I followed that advice for long :p:cool:
