Just to give some people hope... my local store had one left - well it did until I went there. I was so surprised I purchased it and gave it to my parents....

It was marked at £50 so that explains why it hadn't been snapped up.

(my home town is Stourbridge by the way!)

i've got one of these ... have managed to play everything including divx, avi, mpeg and xvid. High quality xvids do not always play completely smoothly (stilll watchable though) - unpacking the bitstream does not help.

Only problems i've found are the flimsy tray and the strength of the remote control - but neither are big issues. Overall very very happy.

ps does anyone know of a way to go to the middle of a divx without fast forwarding, or is it not possible?

Hi Guys

I managed to get this machine at my place but when I play Gladiator DVD on it some how it doesnt work in English? it uses some other language doea anyone know how to play it in English. I tried to switch english subtitles but still the movie is not in english. Has anybody experience the same problem?

I had the same problem with another film.
I fixed it by going into the setup and under the audio/analog turn the downmix to stereo.

have you also tried the audio button on the remote!

I tried Audio button but it doent allow to do anything with Gladiator DVD I will try the other solution you have mentioned

Just a thought for those with Karaoke problems, have you turned up the mic volume switch on the front panel ?

I ordered one of these on the internet to be delivered to the Portsmouth Store. I received an email to say it had been despatched and would arrive in 4 working days.
When I phoned to check after 5 working days Customer Services said they had no idea where the dvd player had gone and would have to re-order it.
I think I missed an opportunity to try to have it delivered to my home for free but we live and learn !!
