WH Smith now selling Skyworth 3650 DVD Player which plays DivX for £29.99.  Originally £99.99, reduced to £39.99 (remember it being posted before at this price), now £29.99.

Plays DVD, DivX, MP3, DVD+R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, CD, CD-DA, CD-R and CD-RW.

Also karaoke functions and Kodak Picture CD compatible.

The one we got shows Region 2 on the box, but is working Multiregion.

Not fully tested yet.

Absolute bargain.

I ordered last week and got an email 2 hours saying it wasn't available - even though the website showed it as in stock...... fingers crossed. Another bonus is that it is multiregion even though it is sold as R2 only. It is reviewed here:

I also ordered on Thursday night got an acceptance email then 30 minutes later an email saying out of stock at manufacturer.

Rang this morning as it says in stock still on website and dispatch in 24 hours.

I was told it has been invoiced and ready for dispatch and my account debited on the 11 chaecked my account and no money debited.

So I have no idea what is going on will it arrive or not ...is it in stock...will they take my money....

I got mine in the post yesterday.

It is multi region and plays divX's fine as well as AVI's I havent tested it with Xvid's yet but its meant to be able to play those as well.

For £31.64 delivered its an absolute bargain. Had a big sticker in the box with £99.99 half price £49.99 which is the in shop price.

The CD tray is VERY flimsy, but the player otherwise is well built and looks very smart.

Plays Xvid format fine.

Edit: Basically a Yamada 6600, but with less firmware upgrades, ie no subtitles on Xvid. Karaoke feature is fun if you've got a microphone.

I ordered one from the website Sunday, and got a phone call from the shop Tuesday that it was ready for collection.

Smart looking unit, and excellent playback so far. Well pleased!
