£120??!! Please tell me where you source your Botox from! In 8 years I have never come across such a cheap price! And you're correct, sometimes your profit isonly £15 or so if you have to chuck a bottle

Xeomin from Wigmore Pharmacy in London. £118 for 100 unit vial.

We've had VERY good results with Xeomin.

I'd love to give botox a try for the two frown lines above my nose but am terrified.
I'm 55 and always been very careful with my skin and it's paid off because it is in very good condition with only a few very fine lines apart from the two frown lines which because the other lines are'nt that noticeable, stick out like sore thumbs.
I'm quite happy with the rest of my face just that particular area.
What bothers me is that I might get that frozen look.
I'd be interested in others experiences.

You wont get the frozen look if thats not what you want. The consultant will only inject the amounf required.

Where in the country are you?

Those are the lines that I have done- I obviously frown a lot when I'm concentrating!

My doctor is conservative in the amount she injects and prefers to give more 2 weeks later if needed rather than a big dose at one appointment.

Initially I was disappointed in the results. It really took a week before I saw any improvement and even then it wasn't 100% what I wanted. At the follow up I had more added and I was then very pleased with the result. I was much less pleased when it wore off in less than 3 months (although I was warned that this might happen!).

Each treatment since though has lasted longer and no one knows that I have botox unless I choose to tell them. Even my OH doesn't realise that I have it done.

The injections are tiny, some I barely feel and I've had no bruising afterwards. The first time it felt very strange a few hours afterwards, almost as if I had a tight headband on but this wore off very quickly and hasn't recurred.

The main drawback for me ( other than the cost) is how used I get to seeing a nice smooth brow. Once the furrows start to reppear they now bother me far more than they used to so I don't see me giving up the botox until I can no longer afford it.

I will also continue as some of the latest research indicates that botox prevents the formation of new lines so I see it as a long term investment in my appearance rather than a short term fix.

It does take a week for the botox to take effect.

Also, its not an exact science so the follow up two weeks later is essential.

    Another convert I see!

I like the frozen look....don't want any movement. Why have it done if you still want to see wrinkles. Oh no no....

Xeomin is not Botox but a brand of Botulinum Toxin A. You know that too Paul. Wigmore are expensive. I reserve it for clients who very occasionally develop resistance to the other brands as some research suggests it doesn't last as long. Dysport is my favourite though.
