My first treatment only lasted a bare three months but each one since then has taken effect quicker and lasted longer. The third treatment lasted over 6 months and I expect the 4th which I've just had to last longer still.

I think the constant attempts to upsell are because you are trying to do it on the cheap. My practioner charges about the average for this part of the world but actually talked me OUT of having botox in one area because she didn't think it would work. I'd rather pay a little more and be happy with the result than try and save a few £££ and be disappointed.

Yes. Agreed. You should find someone who is willing to make recommendations on what is best for you rather than try to make more money.

We make a point of ensuring we do this... Its not unknown that we tell someone theres no point them paying for botox at all if we think its not going to have the effect they want.

If you dont mind me asking, how much do you pay? And where are you in the country?

At least we're in the same country!

Anyway, it'd be a nice weekend away to come and visit your fellow countrymen in the south !!!

Hi you all.
Why not try the British Association of Cosmetic Doctors to find a reputable one in your area. Not only do we have regular training in cosmetic treatments but we are all doctors first, and as such are overseen by the General Medical Council -"Patient First" and "Do No Harm" - are maxims.
To perform Botox treatments you do need to know the anatomy of the face and be aware of the balance between them. As one keeps having treatments, various muscles of the face can decrease in strength, thus altering the balnce in the face, so your next treatment may require different quantities to your previous one.
Just type "British Association of Cosmetic Doctors" in Google.

Best Wishes,

I honestly just wished to give you a reputable source for cosmetic information. If you perceive this as spamming then accept my humble apologies. I have no axe to grind., and have enough work on my hands as a full time GP. I work 60+ hours a week and hardly see my family as it is.As a bit of purely unbiased advice, choose whatever practitioner you like, as long as you trust them. Always ask them - If something goes wrong can they fix it- , and ask to see some of their "before" and "after" photographs.
Best wishes,

Myroslav.

With a doctor take that as granted. You cannot practice without it.
;28429043]Hmmm. I'd be a bit dubious. A 100 unit vial of botox costs £120. Once its opened it only lasts for a week or two.

If they open one, do one area for £75, they could lose a few quid if they've got to chuck it after.
£120??!! Please tell me where you source your Botox from! In 8 years I have never come across such a cheap price! And you're correct, sometimes your profit isonly £15 or so if you have to chuck a bottle

Agreed it is optional if you're a nurse (but not recommended). If your a beauty therapist chances are you cant get insurance.
