Hi, I think they used several syringes :) on 4 areas. Skin dont price by syringe just do what needs doing and then when I went back after 2 weeks they used another syringe to touch up round my mouth.

Thanks for the invite :) but I need filler to plump the lines above my lips and sides of the nose/mouth.
  • The Harley Medical Group are the most expensive for botox, there are much cheaper doctors who perform this procedure safely. I would 'shop around' rather than get ripped off.

  • My friend, who is a nurse practitioner with prescribing rights, does botox and visits people in their homes. She charges £150 for one area, then £50 for subsequent areas. I have had it done just for those 2 frown lines between the eyes, and am really pleased. It lasted 5 months the first time, and I had it done again last month. She is based in the York area, and seems to be quite busy.
NO EXCUSES - THIS YEAR IT'S PERSONAL..........

"Also, same as the fillers, botox is dispersed by the body naturally after 6-9 months anyway so theres no danger at all."

Not true. Botulinum toxin is not "dispersed" it is deposited in the liver and possibly brain, nervous system. Research is ongoing as to it's possible metabolism, no one knows what the long term effects of continuously injecting a toxin into your body might be . There are risks from overdose as this is a deadly poison.

It has legitimate medical uses where a risk benefit ratio may make it worthwhile using but there is no longterm research to show it is risk free for the regular usage decreed for cosmetic purposes. No medicine is risk or side effect free and Botox is a medicine.

    Hi Paulwellerfan

How did you get on at the consultation?

Where you going to opt for the botox or fillers?

Has anyone else had any of these recently that would like to share how they got on,, been considering having a little tweek myself:)

I'm going for a top up on Friday. After 2 full years of treatment it is now lasting about 8 months between shots.

I'm also considering a filler in a pesky little vertical line above one eyebrow that doesn't seem to be affected by the botox.

No but it would be difficult to live your life without ever crossing a road, and more particularly not many people deliberately step in front of a juggernaut.

Botox, fillers etc are not risk free. There are many possible complications known, and also research ongoing about possible unknown complications arising from long term use of Botox. Any foreign substance injected into the body from tatoos to fillers has the potential to trigger autoimmune diseases etc. Botulinum toxin has specific problems that people need to know about.

It is one thing accepting a risk benefit ratio for a medicine and another for a cosmetic proceedure .

If people are not informed by "clinic", nurse or whoever that there are risks then they are not giving informed consent.
