If you change ANYTHING on the form, it will not open immediately, and if you are not already registered for online banking it will do this too.

    Hi Kavanne,

My I ask how you know this? I had to change my home telephone number as I've never updated that with my branch since I moved home, and also had to give dates moved into my current and previous addresses which were also not pre-populated....

Applied yesterday, nothing showing up today but I guess it will be Tuesday or Wednesday now as we're over the BH weekend...

I am an existing Natwest customer. I applied for their e-ISA on the 1st April thinking that it would appear online the following day. 5 days later I received a letter in the post asking me to sign the form and return which I did. It's now the 11th April and I've still not heard anything and the ISA is still not showing in my account. Very poor service from Natwest. I wouldn't really say it had been "opened instantly". I think I might just scrap the whole thing and go somewhere else.

If you call their applications line 08453030299 it does say their opening process can take up to 10 working days from the day THEY receive your signed app.

I went into the branch and opened an current account at netwest last Monday, since then they have sent letters of all discriptions, welcome letters, PIN number, customer number, and even a cheque book, and today I got a pink coloured Welcome pack, with a letter and lots of company literature.

But they still havent sent me an online activation code. An whole week and I'm still not able to use online banking, let alone open an e-isa which is all I want to do.

I have to say Natwest are a joke!:rotfl:

You can apply for an e-isa without your online banking set up, you just select 'i am a natwest customer but i am not set up for online banking' when you apply...

Yes thats right - but then you got to wait for the e-isa application form to come through the post, fill it in send it back and hope they get it. I have sent 4 e-isa forms back to natwest, I even phoned natwest and they said they don't have my name on their system, even though I had a natwest reference number.

    Natwest is broken by design

By e-isa forms do you mean you sent an isa transfer form to them? They cannot do an isa transfer before you actually open the isa.

If that's not the case, it's probably worth trying another bank where you can get these products in branch rather than braving the internet.

I tried opening an e-isa account online they then sent a pack of two forms, which I filled out, even sent a cheque of £1 to open the savings account. The cheque has never been cashed and natwest inform me I'm not on their system, inlight of the fact I still had a letter welcoming me to private banking.

It was after this I thought I best go into the branch and open an account, this was last monday

Ah! Private banking, you need to find out who your relationship manager is and pester them!! You can do this either in the branch or over the phone

Well I don't really want private banking from natwest all I want is an e-isa to transfer an old isa into it.

I've now got a natwest current account, and I've been waiting and waiting for this online activation code so I can open an e-isa account online - hoping it will be opened immediately.

It really is a stupid system natwest have setup and there is only one orther stupid system I've seen in my live like this one and thats Tesco.

I do believe RBS (natwest) had something to do with Tesco, which would explain the utter stupidity of both systems.
