Natwest e-isa - delay in creating account?
Comments

Have you paid any new money into the NS&I account since April 6th 2008?
- If not, you can pay your full 2008/9 allowance into the Natwest one.
- If so, you HAVE to pay any balance of your 2008/9 allowance into the NS&I account by Sunday.

Natwest are a little simple when it comes to information they appear to leave out important bits or insert it as an after thought, but if you have the time to read every word on their webpage for opening an e-isa it says
If you bank online we can save you time by pre-filling your
application and opening your account instantly.
So having a bank account is one thing, but having a internet bank account is another with natwest0 -

Thanks again. I haven't paid any into my account since April 6th 2008. As long as i can open the account and deposit £3,600 before sunday, then i will do that.
Natwest @ 3.25% seems to be the best rate available at the moment right?0 -
Must admit that I haven't checked in depth - I committed to a 7% Fixed-Rate Regular Saver for my 2009/10 Cash ISA, so haven't bothered to keep up with what's happening in the variable-rate ISA scene.stuartw101 wrote: »....Natwest @ 3.25% seems to be the best rate available at the moment right?0 -
Applied to open an account yesterday morning, and deposited the full £3,600 for the 08/09 year. No sign of the account online yet though, so im not sure if the money i deposited will go towards the 08/09 year or 09/10.0

I'm an existing Natwest customer so applied for the e-isa, and as others have said it does take approx 24 hours for the account to appear.
The paperwork arrived yesterday with a form to send back signed, then they will put the opening money into the a/c although I have been able to transfer some already online.
I was a bit surprised though that after completing the 'easy way to transfer isas' form that you have to print and take it to your branch, it doesn't mention posting it

Transfer other ISAs
If you want to transfer another cash ISA to us, once your e-ISA is open, complete the ISA Transfer form, print it, and send it to: Central Tax Unit, 9th Floor, 1 Hardman Boulevard, Manchester, M3 3AQ and we’ll arrange for the transfer to be completed.

Many thanks for that bristolleedsfan, I didn't notice that on the site
but on the form it says "please take your completed application form to your local NatWest branch. Please note you may be required to provide proof of identity" the a/c was already opened
The Manchester address is in a box labelled for "Branch use only" but it is going in the post now
