I'm in the same situation. Applied 'online' on monday for a cash isa plus and still waiting for it to appear. Funny thing is that the online customer service assistent cannot find my application anywhere on their systems. So much for existing customer satisfaction.
That means one of 2 things: your application was completed and the account opened, should appear on internet banking the next working day or 2) you did not complete your application. Try again.

As predicted by some on here, despite being an existing customer, I applied on Monday and this morning I got a form to complete and post back. Not very 'e', is it!
Hurrah, now I have more thankings than postings, cheers everyone!

If you change ANYTHING on the form, it will not open immediately, and if you are not already registered for online banking it will do this too.

5th day of waiting and it still has not appeared on my online account details. Like I said the customer services person cannot find the application on online systems. I would have been better making the application in branch. Just to comfort some (dunno if it does) but existing customers aren't getting better treatment. Natwest have just ballsy it up!

You can't apply in the branch. My advice to you is to reapply online and please make a note of your application reference number (begins 2009...) when you see it in case you need to call them.

Has anyone had the experience of transfering an ISA from A&L to NatWest?

The NatWest Transfer form only allows an 8 digit account number, but the A&L account number has 11 digits! There doesn't seem to be anyway around this as you complete the form electronically and then print it out.

    Thanks.

Same problem with the Yorkshire BS account no, too many digits, also not enough room to type in my email address either. Plus I think that they have opened my account as an ISA plus, which says that you cannot transfer another cash ISA into, I don't recall being given the choice when applying on line. As I am a Nat West customer already I have transferred my 09/10 allowance in already without waiting for the paperwork. Me thinks a phone call to clarify the transfer process etc etc, will be needed on Tuesday! lol

You could try giving NatWest some feedback, I have ;)

    https://www.natwest.com/secure/global/contact_us/personal_form.asp

I'm an existing customer and was able to open the e-isa on the 2nd April for 2009/10, and transfer money in when it appeared after about 24 hours, then the paperwork arrived a few days later. I thought isas could only be opened from the 6th onwards

This is eaxctly the situation i had. I printed off the transfer form and took it in to a branch to seek advice. they added the AL isa number manually on the form. you need to put the account number as 00000000.
Am i here to save money or spend money......hmmmmm

Has anyone on here actualy been able to open a natwest e-isa. Its taking forever with these idiots, I've had a dozon letters or so and they still haven't sent an activation code. They have sent customer number, cheque book a welcome pack, I've even had email from them, but still cant access online banking.

This bank is a mess, like tesco internet banking, you have to jump through rings of fire to get anything done. Phone them up and they refer you to the local branch, go to the local branch and they phone someone up for help. How difficult can they make it to open a bloody bank account?

I had the same problem, however i realised that i had to actually request my activation code when you apply for the online banking. The code took 5 days, while everything else came within 3 days. So i was just waiting...... and waiting...... :o

Anyone know how long transfers in take?
