  • Martin… By using 18866 we have slashed the cost of calls to mobiles. Easy to set up… no monthly fees and you can go online and check every call that has been made.

Thanks Martin for a very easy and painless cost reduction.

You have to register with them, then dial 18866 before each number.
Local, national and most international calls are 1p per minute, calls to mobiles 10p per minute. :D
    Born to shop;)

No notice needed to cancel Justdialsaver.

E-mail them the termination at care@justdialsaver.com

(Have you seen telestunt - they give 1p/min calls 24/7 and there's no need to sign up with them - the cost of the calls just go on your phone bill.)

    Hi trafalgar

Before you cancel with JDS are you aware that you can still use 18866 for your peak time calls at.1p per minute +.1p connection charge.

I pay BT £9.50 per month [Standard tariff/Line rental] until July 04.

JDS £4.99 per month for their Option 2 tariff – Unmetered calls National/Local evenings and weekends up to 75 minutes.  Redial to remain unmetered.

18866 for peak time National/Local calls and all my International calls [mostly USA].

I input 1280 [override number] to revert back to BT and use their free call allowence [until July 04] mostly for numbers commencing 0845.

Smartasss is correct – No notice is required by JDS to cancel but they do state that it will take approx 3 weeks for any change to become effective.

    OK now I am confused

I have a BT line on BT together option 1 at the moment
use o2 mobile to call daughter as she is not on landline
Ring family evenings /weekends on BT landlines(national calls)and make only the occasional daytime call national
Can anyone suggest best option as my brain is now hurting ;D ;D ;D ;D

Much appreciated if you could ::)
    Don't worry I won't hold anyone responsible for my choices ultimately;D ;D ;D
Thanks everyone for your patience ::)

    Hi trafalgar

BT have stated that from July 04 their Standard tariff and free call allowance will be discontinued and all subscribers on their Standard tariff will be moved to their Option 1 tariff [9,000,000 accounts approx].

BT Option 1 tariff will become £1 per month cheaper and evening National/Local calls up to 1 hour will be reduced from .6p to 5.5p effective April/May/June/July [not sure which month, BT are restructuring over this period]

From the information you have posted, it would appear that your telephone use is low and any savings to be made by moving away from BT [particularly after July 04] will also be minimal.

It costs you nothing to set up a 18866 account so why not benefit from their low charge of .1p per minute plus .1p connection charge for your occasional peak time National/Local calls.

I assume you're using free o2 minutes to call your daughter.

I should add that my only connection with BT, JDS or 18866 is as a customer.

Thank you so much for your reply

I think I will stay with BT for the moment at least until I see how adding 18866 works out

    Thanks for your help ;D
