Me muvva still has shop bread so saves the wrappers for me to use as sandwich bags--she doesn't bother saying anymore, that it's an embarrassment when the offspring take their lunches out at work & it's not in a 'pretty' bag....at last! I've won an arguement:j

ha ha well done! How many years did that one take?:rotfl:

Hehehehe FC..too many to count! I just posted the link yesterday as I saw it & would've forgotten to do it today...trouble is it doesn't explain how you convince the family they are NOT having a roast dinner three times a week even if the smell says otherwise:p

  • Oh where to being - anything goes
    Some personal faves include
chopped banana (even better with toast)
    sliced apple and raisin
    sweetcorn relish
    jam
mushy pea and ketchup (even better warmed in microwave for a minute- don't knock it until you try it)

Hi HGLT - what's sweetcorn relish??? it sounds lovely :)

Falafels are really cheap to make and good in wraps (and freeze well)... I have them with HM hummus, salsa, grated carott & red cabbage... very tasty.
    TOP MONEYSAVING TIP

Make your own Pot Noodles using a flower pot, sawdust and some old shoe laces. Pour in boiling water, stir then allow to stand for two minutes before taking one mouthful, and throwing away. Just like the real thing!

(Quote)Quark is virtually fat free soft cheese and although it dosen`t taste like cheese is great for sandwich fillings.[/Quote]

Quark is ESPECIALLY nice served spread on top of toast and jam! Yum.

One of my favourite sandwich fillings is a one-egg omlette with whatever else is in the fridge; a bit of fried potato perhaps, cheese, mushrooms, peppers, chopped sausage. Delicious and filling!

I bought a shoulder of pork joint yesterday that had been reduced in price. It's currently sitting in the fridge after a slow roast last night, waiting to be sliced & frozen in packs for lunch boxes for the coming weeks.

I'm wondering how difficult it would be to bone & roll a chicken...

    Falafel?

Instead of making sarnies.. how about falafel in pitta breads with salad?

They are cheap as chips to make and hmmm lovely!

It's just the bog standard stuff in a jar found in the pickles & chutney aisle in all supermarkets, and yes it is lovely especially done on what I call "lazy bread" - one of my own little invented quirks (I have many and a lot are foodie-related but hey food is fun!)
