  • I really like making a sandwich with cream cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and a drizzle of sweet chilli sauce over the top. It goes really well with the cheese!

I think it tastes fab with really thinly sliced celery. Or cream cheese and avocado is another good one.

I had to read that book when I was in a book group -boy, was I glad when I'd finished. I can't remember any cream cheese sandwiches though:doh:

I was going to suggest cream cheese and date-my mum used to make them for us when we were kids. They may have had walnuts in too;)
  • Cream cheese and black olives is lovely.
  • Why not make a pate with it?

Chick peas with garlic and chilli would be lovely - mash up a tin of chickpeas, and add finely chopped garlic, chilli and then add cream cheese - chill and use as you wish.

Mushroom pate too could be made by sweating down mushrooms and onions and garlic and then blending with cream cheese.

I really like cream cheese with some of the herb lovage chopped into it, not one you often see for sale, but if you have a friend or neighbour who grows their own they'll be glad to give you a couple of leaves because it's a vigourous plant and you need very little for a strong taste.
I also like a sandwich with a little Marmite, then some cream cheese, then some fresh coriander leaves.
If you prefer something sweeter, then cream cheese and honey is yummy, and if you want an extra treat then add a couple of finely chopped walnuts as well.
  • Cream cheese and marmite is nice. It's also nice in a bagel with salmon
