Get paid for free evening and weekend calls

obsessive wrote:I signed up for Freetalk Plus 2 via USwitch at the start of February. One difficulty I had then was that although USwitch gave some details of the Plus 2 package, I couldn't actually find anything on the Primus website itself about the package - including details of tariffs etc.
I'm sure it must be there somewhere, and I'm just being thick, but could anyone point me in the right direction. I need to know when, for example, evenings/weekends start so I can stop using 1899 and just let the call go through Primus as my CPS.
Taken from FAQ on their website, question 2:
2.Call Charges
When can I make daytime, evening and weekend calls?
• Daytime calls are between 8am and 6pm on weekdays.
• Evening calls are between 6pm and 8am weekdays.
• Weekend calls are between midnight on Fridays and midnight on Sundays
Hope this answers your question.0 -
Weekdays 08:00 to 18:00
Evenings 18:00 to 08:00
Weekends *00:01 Saturday to 23:59* Sunday
*But, of course, 'Evenings' fills the 18:00 to 23:59 gap on Fridays and the 00:01 to 07:59 gap on Mondays.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
Thanks guys, that's helpful.

Are you using AOL's browser. If so, you could try minimising that and using Internet Explorer.0 -

I'm keen to sign up to Primus but having looked at the Primus website, I'm now feeling more hesitant.
Correct me if I’m wrong but there appears to be no reference made to the Saver Option 1 package (free weekend calls) on the Primus website (http://www.planet-talk.co.uk/SaverProducts.aspx?source=saver)? It only talks of Saver Option 2 or 3. This is despite Option 1 being offered through Uswitch.
Also Uswitch says, and I quote, “calls to other Primus Freetalk customers are free at all times” This is seem to be regardless of which saver option you go for. However, the Primus website doesn’t mention this at all.
I'm currently on Talk Talk Option 1 via CPS (I stayed well clear of their line rental hard sell). It works fine for me because the people I ring most often are also with Talk Talk. However I can see a time in the not too distant future when Talk Talk make it compulsory for everyone to take their line rental. I don't want to let this £5 monthly rebate offer with Primus expire only to find I looking for a new provider just a month or 2 later because my hand has been forced by Talk Talk.
I suppose what I'm saying is I'm looking for a little bit clarification and reassurance that Primus are reliable. Has anyone already made the switch, and if so, are things running smoothly?0 -
OK if I switch to primus will the cost to calling 0844/0871 remain the same?0

Remain the same as what?
If you have to dial 0845 BT is the cheapest and https://www.call18185.co.uk for 0870 as a general rule of thumb but it does depend on the time of day0
