Get paid for free evening and weekend calls

Nicholas wrote:Another good point. However, everything seems to be getting more complex all the time. I still prefer using 1899 for my cheap daytime calls. Plus I need to put one or two calls BT's way each month (I get billed monthly) to ensure I keep free caller display. That just leaves most evenings. At 5p a throw, £60 is a lot of credit to use up.
The only other use I would have with this credit is perhaps the odd occasion I cannot find an alternative to a 0870 number, and perhaps combining DialAround with calls to mobiles. Does anyone know if you can use 08444 access numbers through Primus, and the cost? Their website seems remarkably silent on most numbers.
Primus charge the same as BT to call 0844 NGN numbers.BT are cheaper for 0845/0870 calls.
You could also use it up by putting anylandline to mobile calls through discountdials 0844 number.PF.0 -

Hi,
I have a BT line, have just switched from Onetel to Primus Option 1, but pay for my Caller Display with BT.
I don't understand how to make some BT calls in order to get free Caller Display.
When you do make some BT calls, do BT automatically give you CD free, or do you have to ask for it?
Thanks,

Sorry, that it what I meant - Discountdial. But where did you find the 0844 rates with Primus?0 -

You have to ask for the Privacy at Home service which includes the free caller display, and just make one or two calls per month to keep them happy. I normally use it in conjuction with my bestfriend saving, so it only works out 4p for an hours chat - just 1p more than 1899. Some say that 1 call per quarter is enough, but it just looks better with perhaps 2 or 3 calls on a monthly bill, and as I said, only about 3p more overall to save £1.75 a month.0 -

To make the odd call via BT (I'd suggest 0845 calls for which BT have the cheapest rates), dial 1280 before the number.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
I use BT to call free numbers (0800, 0500), so I'm meeting the requirement of making some calls through BT but I'm not having to pay for them!
Prefix the number with 1280 if you're using a CPS provider to force the call through BT.0 -
I signed up for Freetalk Plus 2 via USwitch at the start of February. One difficulty I had then was that although USwitch gave some details of the Plus 2 package, I couldn't actually find anything on the Primus website itself about the package - including details of tariffs etc.
I'm sure it must be there somewhere, and I'm just being thick, but could anyone point me in the right direction. I need to know when, for example, evenings/weekends start so I can stop using 1899 and just let the call go through Primus as my CPS.0
