    Afternoon!

Elona - I have just sprayed with vinegar, don't think it's lead pipes, house is only 9 years old - though round here you never know lol! It comes off with a bit of elbow grease, it just keeps reappearing, perhaps I should go for orange tiles, eek!

Candy - sounds immenent to me, keep us posted :-)

Moggins - council jobs are great, loads of benefits and usually pretty healthy wages! Good luck!

Diva - good to hear Tristan was more lucid, hope you have a lovely chat later. He is still in my prayers.

Sybil - dd1 didn't speak for ages and ages, loads of tests but basically I think she couldn't be bothered, she used to point and my ds would interpret for her! dd3 could only says shoes and chocolate for almost a year - though perhaps they are the most important words for a girl lol!

Many many thanks to everyone for all the well wishes for me and my nephew, I have no further news yet on either of us, so I assume that nothing too awful is happening, no news being good news and all that!

Hugs to all who want them xx

    Afternoon peeps

wow, today has certainly flown by! nice busy day and i`ve got lots of things done so i`m feeling quite pleased with myself :D

Woke nice and early and ran downstairs to find that i`d forgotten to set the timer on the dw :o i thought about emptying it and washing by hand for all of two seconds then switched it on. The houndies went for a nice walk and saw all their friends, little oldie walked a lot further than usual but i think that had something to do with lots of people giving him biscuits  he`s been asleep ever since.

I popped to the vet for his repeat prescription and then to the shops for some jeans as i put my foot through mine when i was stumbling around trying to put them on this morning :o they are ancient and i got a couple of bargain pairs so i`ve got plenty of bits for patches now.

I had visitors for a couple of hours and since then i`ve been in the garden, two tubs of early potatoes are now in and one pot of onions, i`ve sorted out a few things in the shed and drilled some holes in the wall in the hallway and the long awaited coat hooks are finally up :j salad leaved and chives are now in the fridge instead of the greenhouse ready to chop up, the leaves will go in sandwiches and the chives will go in the soft cheese that i made yesterday along with some garlic YUM!

I`m having a well earned cuppa and then i shall make a start in the kitchen, i fancy some sort of curry later, it will have to be something soft though as the dreaded toothache is still flaring up a couple of times a day, i`m just waiting for the paracetamol to kick in.

Happy Birthday noahspennilessmum :bdaycake: have a lovely day.

Ladymay - So pleased to hear the news from the docs yesterday ((((HUGS)))

Moggins - good luck for your interview

Wmf - ((((HUGS)))) for your doggie, hope he`s ok

Spykey_uk - Welcome :hello: there has been some serious os-ing in your household

Welcome to all the new posters, my head is like a sieve even on a good day :o i shall start remembering names after a while.

    Lamewolf :hello:

Betheebee - I love plate pies, i read the plate pie thread a while ago. I bought some enamel plates and have never looked back. My favourite so far is made with leftovers from brisket cooked in guiness in the sc.

Right i need to go into the kitchen NOW or we shall starve :D have a good day peeps.

Lamewolf - good to see you!

Sistercas - in this house the biggest fan of big cook little cook is dear heart  , although little bear enjoys it too. I shall now think of your 15 yr old every time I see it!

Dear heart has let me know that he doesn't want tea again tonight. Hmm. I need to brush up my culinary skills. Tomorrow - when I am feeling more human.

I don't really fancy anything, and little bear only seems to have room for treats at the moment, so I will see if I can think of something nutritionally packed for him and I think I will have toast.

We may be talking scrambled eggs here... followed by grapes and banana. In my current state of grumpiness, all I can say is thank goodness for the microwave. :o

Hiya LameWolf, nice to see you back sounds like you've been busy :D

Mummysaver/redruby - I get that orangey stuff as well and usually use an old toothbrush and diluted bleach, but I've just bought some Stardrops and will give that a go next time it rears its ugly head ;)

Beth - Love plate pies steak and onion, and apple and mincemeat are my favourites...not on the same plate you understand ..... :rotfl:

Think I'd better go get sorted and stop playing around on here, (((hugs))) all xx

    :hello: Back again!

Dentist went ok, I hope the filling will last a long time.

Can't decide what to have for dinner tonight - got a headache (I think it's just a tension headache because of having to go to dentist :o )- may end up with Shirley Valentine's default recipe - chips'n'egg:D

I bought some chicken breasts y'day and some yogurt a few days ago, I want to try Nigel Slater's quick recipe for chicken biryani but not sure if today's the best time to try to concentrate on something new.....Will have some more Solpadeine shortly and see how I feel when that kicks in. I think the use-by date on the yogurt is today but i'm sure it'll be quite all right tomorrow.

Hiya LameWolf :hello: Nice to see you back!

elona - Thanks for the soup recipe, it sounds lovely and easy so I'll have to give it a go - I'm sure i've got some dried peas in the back of the cupboard :o

candygirl - Best wishes to your DD, feeling full of energy does sound quite hopeful!

betheebee - I keep meaning to send you some ((((HUGS))))

moggins - Glad to hear the interview went well, and good luck applying for the Council job.

    Have a good evening all.

    Evening all

Well it has turned into a nice evening here if a little cold. Today as been a very busy but satisfying day.

My bread turned out great, but I think that I might tweak the amount of sugar in it - I think it was slightly sweet. Not going to last long though OH loved it!

Also made a couple of lemon drizzle cakes (one for DD to take away with her) some Twink's hobnobs (ditto for DD) and a weetabix loaf. Lunch was HM carrot and coriander soup and HM bread!! Spag bol for tea was lovely too.

Went to Aldi's this afternoon to try to get some of those tomatoes plants but they had none left - will call in again tomorrow to see if they have any more stock in.

Hope everyone else has had happy and productive days.

    xxx

Morag - thank you for the link! I am chuckling, and haven't read to the end. But I just whizzed on and I am now about to whizz off.

    Little bear's bedtime!

But I haven't made meatloaf and I am sure it is flavoursome...
