    Morning all

Raining here at the moment but sky lightening so may improve

Day off today, has been a really busy week with staff illnesses so I will really appreciate today!

Ravylesley thanks for the Manchester Tart recipe - I will def be giving that a go in next few weeks.

Ladymay fortune favours the brave - what can you loose by asking him - go for it!
Noahspennilessmum Happy Birthday, hope you have a lovely day:beer:

Loads of baking planned for today, DD is going on a girlie weekend with her friends to a log cabin in Lake District so might bake a lemon drizzle cake and some hob nobs to send in her suitcase for when they are sitting drinking their wine - I know what they are like for picking at sweet things!!!

Means we (OH and me) can have a nice weekend to ourselves this weekend - am really looking forward to it. DD is only one left at home now but even so seems to take up a lot of attention and time. Although she drives and has a car we still act as a taxi service quite often (prefer that and know she is safe when out with friends) so it will be nice to suit ourselves. Feel a trip to M&S coming on as their meal deal has the prawn ad chicken paella this week and OH really loves that - there may be candles involved folks!!!! Oh the excitement:rolleyes:

Right off for another coffee, then might think about getting showered and dressed. I love these lazy mornings - usually would have been at work for an hour or so by now!!!!!

Enjoy your day - I will check back in for all news later. ((((Hugs)))) to all who need or want them

    xxx

  • Hi Guys!

Not been so good these past few days, but still muddling on:D Thanks for all the lovely messages...they are greatly appreciated. I am waiting for the nurse, then I am at hospital later. I hate the journey into London. Although it's only 10 miles away, it can take over an hour somedays:eek:

Thought I would share some great news about DD. She came home yesterday with an envelope from school to invite her to become a member of the Young, Gifted & Talented Programme for Art, Science & her Maths. She registered last night and she has been told by school that she can be a Prefect next year (yr10)    ....we are dead proud of her:D

WM & DW are both on.

Egg, Chips & HP for dinner later:j :j

Just listening to Phil Collins.....Two hearts...on radio.

    Hugs to all.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Penny pincher - Hope you feel better soon

Hester - you are due some good luck!

Ladymay - I hope you are taking vitamins with that schedule! btw dear heart has camomile tea sometimes before bed which helps him sleep. Personally I can't stand the vile stuff.

It is raining AND sunny at the moment here.

Well, I feel awful, little bear seems so much better, so I foresee an interesting day. I'll see how I feel about taking him for a little walk when the painkillers kick in. To put it in perspective - it is over the counter paracetamol which should do the trick.

So OS will be making sausage & mash for tea, with some nice sausages, and that's about it.

    Hugs to all

I am always nervous about wishing happy birthday to someone in case I forget someone and upset them, but I will stick my neck out and start now

off to work later but am off for a coffee with Lesley's daughter first - last week she was poorly so couldn't make it. I have had a photo done of lesley and framed to hang up at work - one taken last year when we took a service user on holiday together. I miss her so much., lots of things remind me of her all the time and it will be nice to think of her keeping her eye on us at work.

OS - washing is on - hope its done so I can hang it out. Dinner is something from the freezer for them, I'm having mine at work.
Hope you all have a great day

    Take care x

    Happy birthday Noahspennilessmum

    Huggles Sybil

Off to another interview this morning, it's only with an employment agency but they do have a couple of vacancies I am interested in. There were a few good prospects in the paper last night so I shall be ringing up for those when I get back. One is a complete change from what I normally do as it's a sandwich maker for a local company but the hours are 7am to 11am and I quite fancy working early and having the rest of the day free.

Happy birthday NoahsPennilessMum:bdaycake:. I hope you have a wonderful day.
Rainy and cold here today. I'm going to work a bit later this morning as we have an appointment at the vet with our older dog. She seems to have pulled a muscle/ trapped a nerve in her back leg again. This happened a few months ago and we thought that was it until X rays were clear. I'm crossing fingers that a morphine jab and some anti-inflam tablets will do the trick this time again. She is one very precious and much loved doggie :).
Made some minestrone soup last night so there's quite a pot full. Expect we'll just have beans on toast after that.
WM is on but it will have to be hung on the airer.
New mattress arrived yesterday and it is F I R M. Well, we knew it would be as it is an orthopaedic one and the bumph said it was firm. Anyway we giggled like school kids when we lay on it. Slept soundly although it's kind of 'hard' when you turn over. At least I don't wake up bouncing all over the place when DH turns over in his sleep as was happening with the old 'done' mattress! This should help DH's back anyway.
Ok, off to make another cup of tea and have a quick tidy round (or maybe a longer browse on here :p)
(((hugs))) to those feeling under the weather and good wishes for the day to all
