Was looking forward to it as could do with a bit of distraction and cheering up, consultants news yesterday wasn't great, and more tests are being done to determine the cause now that they know what's wrong! Spent a nice evening at home yesterday though, last day's hol that needed using up before the end of the month, just relaxing with the kids was really calming, it's nice to do the simple things and remember how lucky you are sometimes.
Just had a call from my bil, and the new babe is now being tested for meningitis, so please all keep him in your thoughts and prayers, it's always awful and terribly worrying when such a tiny babe is not well.
Mummysaver, hugs to you Hun, hope you get it all sorted soon, it must be a worry for you xx
Hugs to the little baby too, hope all goes well xx0 -
Morning OS friends!
Noahspennilessmum -honey!
csarina - the district nurse was lovely but I am left bruised today.
essexgirl - hope you are feeling better today
notanothergreyhair - Hope you enjoyed the spanish omlette, ours was delicious!
Moggins -with the interview
Taplady - *hugs* I think the picture is a lovely idea
Sybil - thank you for the compliment on my recipes, I love to cook!
Ladymay - Ask him!
Blueberrypie - Thank you for the feta idea - I had been working in my head on a kind of feta quiche/pie thing but your pasta suggestion sounds nice too. Just have to hope the OH likes it, he isn't a fan of feta 'raw' so hoping melted in a quiche or pasta will convert him! And I will certainly suggest a baby needle but they usually ignore me when I tell them to use my hand so I don't hold out much hope!
Mudgekin - So glad you are Ok, I was getting worried when my pms were bouncing! Hope you feel better soon hon.
nic1 - I think my veins are the only thin thing about ME too!
Lesley - I think manchester tart might be appearing on my menus soon!
Mummysaver - keeping your baby nephew in my thoughts and prayers
spykey_uk, blueberrypie and notanothergreyhair -to the thread!
My OH has asked me to find the 'chocolate pud in a mug in the microwave' recipe I told him about months ago when we didn't have a microwave. I deliberately haven't looked for it as I am trying to pretend we don't have one but his argument is that he could just try it once for 'research'.
My garden looks fab! The tree surgeons have done such a great job. Obviously we have lost some of the lovely natural tapering of the conifers but they have rounded them off beautifully. I will post a couple of pics later once I can get them off the camera. To me they look great as they are a lot shorter now (they lopped about a third off each tree) and all are shaped so not flopping over my patio and getting in the way! First time in 30 years they have ever been shaped - usually I just saw off the bits that get in the way!
We had a delicious spanish omlette for dinner last night though as usual for something that was supposed to be using up leftovers we ended up buying a pepper and a tomato! Tonight I think will be feta pasta or feta quiche/pie thingy depending on how hard I work on the OH!
Had an email from Tristan - he is going to try to get online tonight so will go to bed early and get up early again. He sounded much more lucid in his email than he was last time we 'talked' which is great.
Treacle the fat cat wants my attention so keeps walking on the keyboard and sitting on it so it's really hard to type - then she makes it worse by trying to rub her chin on my fingers as I am typing and dribbling as she does so cos she is purring so hard! I shall have to stop and give her a few cat treats to distract her I think.
Warm gentle hugsto everyone who needs or wants one - do something nice for yourself today.

Hello to SpykeyUK and shazba :hello:
Mudgekins
Hope you feel better soon and don't let him know the secret of spag bol, I mentioned using a handful of oats to DD(20)and she looked horrfied!
Mummysaver
I used to blame DDs hair stuff for the orange marks then found out they were limescale and result of lead pipes!
I fill a squirty bottle with white vinegar and warm water solution, spray and leave for a while then rinse it away.
Ivyleaf
I used an idea from "Cooking with Clara" and adapted it.
Put a little oil in a large pot and heat, then add a chopped large onion, cook for about 5mins, add a couple of large chopped potatoes and a couple of chopped carrots, cook another five mins then add an organic veg stock cube and boiling water to cover. Stir and simmer for about 20 mins. I then add the soaked dried peas that I have been cooking till mushy on another ring on the hob and let it meld together. I add salt and black pepper at the end of the cooking so the peas do not toughen.
Italian bread has just come out of the breadmaker and might treat DD to a home made fruit loaf later."This site is addictive!"

Csarina - regrettably my house is not far off that nornallyHope all goes well.
Hugs to all.
I dare not post photos of the bedroom floor, OH decided to pack stuff from the bathroom in the laundry basket, so we now have little piles, of 'whites', 'light coloureds' and 'dark coloureds' on the floor, when we get undressed at night we just drop the clothes onto the relevant pile..........I have almost a full load of whites, although I went through my chest of drawers yesterday and sorted out all my old knickers, some of them resemble strainers, and as I wear them they are getting chucked in the bin. I have a basket full of rags for cleaning, so do it with a clear concience.
We have just been to Aldi, got 6 cherry tomato's 15 all year cauliflowers and 15 early cabbage plants £1.99 a box and they are flying off the shelves, not sure how but I managed to spend £21.....I must keep out of that shop.......Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -

Mudgekin hope you are improving - but don't try to rush things
Moggins good luck!!
Right off to do some baking, wm on and bathroom and lounge tidied, tea is spag bol (frozen from last week) and is defrosting nicely - goodness I am very OS today. (well apart from the quick trip I have just done to M&S to get that meal deal - well I did save £8 on usual prices so not too bad really)
Let you know how bread turns out later.
xxx

Thanks all for the good wishes. They have a couple of jobs they are going to put me forward for. I then got home to find a message from another employment agency who are putting me forward for a job with our local council. I really hope I get that one as they work flexi time and have loads of perks available
I've also loaded the dishwasher and cleaned the kitchen
Right, now it's time to grab the paper and start applying for the jobs that I circled last night. After that it's load the washing machine and start tidying my bedroom up.0 -
Another five minute sanity saver while little bear finishes off the last of the cherry toms - I can't wait to have mine growing again.
Spykey - if they make me welcome, then you are certainly safe. They are so lovely on here. And the help you can get is amazing!
Anyway - temporary sunshine, time for a little walk and then I hope a nap (for little bear )
Also, dear heart has nobly agreed to take me and little bear shopping Saturday which is hard for him. He is genuinely affected by crowds - I have seen him go green! So we will be off at the crack of dawn but I shall see if I can wangle a detour to Aldi. Thank you for the tip!
Hugs to all.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0
