I used Fonebank to sell my iPhone 3GS 16GB. They only offered me £203 where as CashInMyFone offered £210 but the feedback for CashInMyFone was terrible. This worried my because my iPhone had one scratch on the screen (the rest was imaculate after 18months) and I heard they offer top prices then use excuses to bring the price offered down.
Went for Fonebank. Posted the phone on Friday and on Monday I had an email confirming the cheque for £203 was on its way. So the service cannot be faulted. I had used Fonebank before for 2 old Sony phones but as their value was only £15 each it was impossible to judge how reliable their offer was for a phone of much greater value.
I guess I will never know whether CashInMyFone would have paid out the £210 but for the sake of £7 I'm glad I got the money hassle free.

P.S. I sent my phone in covered in bubble wrap and in a jiffy bag and took photos of the condition of the phone before and of it wrapped in the packaging. I think I would recommened doing the same just in case they decide to claim its damaged or it does indeed get damaged in the post (as has happend to some other people).0 -
I got a quote for my Apple 2G 8gb which was not working of £40. The touch screen shattered when I dropped it so I replaced it and after about 3 months it gave up and also it was very badly scratched where I had been taken it apart to mend the screen. The casing was damaged and the battery cover kept falling off.
I sent it off using the 'freepost' option and got a confirmation that they had received it the next day by e-mail. The £40 was in my bank account withint 4 working days. Great service and I would use them again.0 -
Posted my phone off to Fonebank yesterday, using their Freepost service (proof of postage, but at my own risk if it got lost in the post) - rather than sending it Special Delivery, as my phone value is quite low.
Just 24 hours later, I have received an email saying Fonebank has received my phone and transferred the money into my bank account. I used Quidco and received an additional £3 too.
What an amazingly quick and professional service. Remarkable turnaround. Fantastic. :TFrom Jan 25:

Welcome to my maiden post on MSE!
I had to comment on the excellent service provided by fonebank
They provided the highest quote for my BlackBerry Storm2 on Monday (over double some other quotes and £30 more than vodafone offered me....).
I posted the phone to them same-day using their freepost address (just adding 76p to use the Royal Mail 'signed-for' service just in case...)
I received an acknowledgement email of receipt on Tuesday afternoon and the full value has appeared in my bank account today (Thursday)
Slick, simple and hassle free
Can't see any downside :T:T:T0 -
:rotfl:Fonebank was great. Posted Monday, E-mail from them on Wednesday and money in bank Friday. Cost me £5 to send special delivery but exceptional service.0

I sent them two old phones and received a cheque this morning for the amount expected. No problems encountered at all. Would use them again.:)0

I used FoneBank in April when selling a broken i phone. I was quoted £40 so decided to take the plunge & I have to say it was successful. I registered with the site, printed off freepost label, packaged it up with lots of bubble wrap, got a proof of posting from Post Office & a week later I received an email to say a cheque for £40 was on its way. Arrived the next day via 1st class Royal Mail.
Pleased with service (although I was sceptical!)0 -
Having read feedback in this thread, I dug out an old PAYG cheap Nokia 2630 that had been lying in a drawer for ages. The phone only cost about £20 new so I was pleasantly surprised to be quoted £5 on the Fonebank website. Instructions very simple to follow - used the freepost option and received my cheque this morning (4 days after posting the phone). Plus £3 cash back on quidco.
Not bad at all for a dusty drawer sell off!
Excellent service from Fonebank.0 -

Excellent service
Just recycled a phone for the first time. Used Fonebank after seeing the reviews and they offered the best price. Confirmation email recieved the day after posting saying it was processed plus you can track it online. Cheque received a few days later. Would definitely use again. Thanks for all the other reviews :-)0
