Posted an ancient Nokia away and had a cheque in my mitts 4 days later.
Can't fault them.;)0 -
Excellent service.
I could have got a few quid more from other phone recyclers for my Nokia 5800 (which was in good condition but had a small scratch on the screen) but I read the above reviews and decided not to risk it for a couple of quid (had been put-off using O2 Recycling by a mate as well). I posted by special delivery on Saturday, Quidco for £3 tracked the same day. I got a confirmation by email on Monday morning confirming that the cheque had been sent-out and I had received the cheque for the value offered on the Tuesday.0 -
Fantastic experience with Fonebank.
I 'sold' my phone to them online on Monday afternoon, posted it recorded delivery on Tuesday afternoon, they sent me an email saying they had received it on Wednesday and today, Thursday, the cheque arrived for the full amount. :j
Easy service with great, super fast service. Would recommend!! :T0 -

I chose fonebank as one of the top prices with the best feedback. Sent my phone off on Friday, cheque arrived today so I'm happy with the service. They don't provide an envelope like alot of the other companies, which in one way can make it quicker as you don't have to wait for them to send you one. They have a freepost address so you don't have to pay postage, although probably worth paying for recorded/special delivery if your phone is worth a lot.0

Further to my post on 02/11/2010 I've already have my £3 received by quidco - great payers!0

Having done my research first I opted for Fonebank.
Surprisingly when I went onto their website I realised that it was Fonebank that I had used about 3 years ago, because my log-in details automatically came up.
That time I remember sending them 2 phones, one of which I had decided was not working because it had a crack on the screen. I received the money for it as a working phone. That says it all really.
This time round, again very happy. No quibbles - you do get what they say you will get on their website.
I don't hesitate to recommend them.0 -
Having done my research on who paid how much and read customer feedback, I opted to send my first 'recycled' phone to Fonebank. The second highest payer but with much better feedback than the first. I noted how many of those posting here are 'new' to the forum and paid more heed to the more regular MSEers.
I went via TopCashBack and got my £3 (tracked, pending) as a new customer and was given a quote for £20 for my phone (working). Unfortunately, due to some issues wuth my new phone, I was a long time in sending the old phone to Fonebank, by which time the price listed for my phone was £17.
I posted my phone (using their Freepost address) on Monday 15th, got an email to confirm its arrival on Thursday 18th and received my cheque (for £17 rather than £20) in the post on Friday 19th. Paid the cheque into the bank on Saturday 20th, where it has been credited to my account (don't know how soon I would know if it 'bounced' but so far so good).
So that's my experience with Fonebank. Cashback tracked, Freepost address worked (got proof of posting from PO) and cheque arrived promptly. They don't pay you the higher amount if their price for your phone drops after you've registered it with them, so I advise being quicker to send it off than I was. Otherwise, seems like a good service. :money:2021 Targets

Read many forums to get an idea of who to send my old iPhone 3g to and opted for Fonebank. Not the highest payer but a long way from the worst and I liked the great reviews.
Nervously sent phone off on Monday afternoon, was emailed on Tuesday and received a quibble-free cheque by Thursday.
Astonishing service. I made £25 profit on the iPhone too!
Went via Quidco (after reading the hint above) and got £3 cashback.
PS. I know there is some cynicism about first time posters on this thread but all I can so is that I was so impressed, that I registered on MSE just to leave a review! Tweeted about them too.
Totally recommend.0 -
don't usually ever get involved with 'posting threads' etc but this time thought i would as I was quite nervous about choosing a company to use for recycling my phone, esp with all the scams about, and saw the pos feedback on here about FoneBank, and found it really useful. Basically sent phone recorded delivery on Tuesday 23rd Nov (worried in case it went missing in the post, the trusting sort that i am!!!!) got an acknowledgement of receipt by email Weds, and the cheque arrived today for £76.00! can't fault it at all.0
