I have just used Fonebank and am very pleased with the service. Posted the phone (special delivery) on Monday and got the cheque today (Friday). Their quote was the second highest of all the ones I got. I'm sure I could have got more on ebay, but I just didn't want the hassle.

Had an HTC Touch HD, bit of water damage so phone kept switching off all by itself, but would not switch off when pressing the on/off switch, had to take the battery out.
    Once on everything worked OK.

Got a 'fully working' price of £98 from fonebank, not the best offer but went with them due to good feedback here. Sent off a bit tongue in cheek and expected to get a damaged offer of around £40.

Sent phone by special D on Friday, e-mail receipt arrived on Monday, cheque for full amount arrived Wednesday.

    Thoroughly recommended.

I sent my nokia 5800 away via special delivery last friday, got the acceptance email on the monday and had the cheque for the full amount in my hands on wednesday. I can't fault the service and would happily use again.
  • I've sent them 2x Nokia 5800 and 1x Nokia N73 over the past three weeks and with each one I have had an email the following day and a cheque the day after the emails so can't fault them at all and would definitely use them again.
  • I sent a Nokia N96 and got £80 for it less than a week later - well impressed.

Posted Special Delivery Monday, they checked phone and posted cheque on Tuesday and received it Wednesday.

Phone was a Nokia 5800, quoted best price which was £84.50 and have £3 Quidco too. :T

Unbelievably happy, especially as the last time I used a mobile recycler they tried to rip me off and claim phone was water damaged.
  • Brilliant experience with them. Would def use again :)

Didn't think to check whether I'd be elgible for Quidco cashback - this ought to be in big flashing lights on the mobilevaluer page, so that's £3 lost! Also, when I checked the value of the phone originally, fonebank came top with £31. When I actually came to send it off it had gone down to £26. Fair enough, I thought, these things do change. But then I foolishly checked again a couple of days AFTER sending it off and it had gone back up to £31. Grrr - now £8 "lost"!

Anyway, I'm not really complaining about fonebank, just having a personal whinge - they've accepted the phone so just waiting for the cheque now.

Edit: cheque received today - overall a very good service.

  • Please dont think i have anything to do with the company as this is my first post but i can only speak as i find.

I sent them my Nokia 5800 with a fairly scratched screen on Saturday morning by special delivery (cost me £5.50) and received an email on Monday saying they had received my phone and a cheque would be in the post.

Received the cheque for the full amount (£81.00) on Tuesday morning. Couldnt be happier with them and would recommend them as long as you get them to sign for your phone.

    Hi guys,

I posted a Nokia N95 8GB, it had a small hair crack on the screen + I had a doubt if it had damaged pixels..... all ended well as I was paid full price. I posted the phone on Friday and the cheque was with me on Tuesday.
I was also paid 14 pounds for my ridiculous Nokia 6630, it had its body cracked. and 3 pounds for motorolla L6. :)
Will definitely recommend. Just post the phone as full working and see if you are lucky....
