I sent them my phone a month ago.

Firstly when I rung them week later whether they received, they said system shows no but Freepost envelope takes up to 10 days and also they have back log in warehouse.

Called week later they said they received it and will be sending vouchers out probably by the end of the week. This is over 2 weeks ago - I allowed for even the slowest snail mail delivery and couple of days on the top and just tried to ring them again - NUMBER TEMPORARILY NOT AVAILABLE???

However they already paid Quidco? (extra £3.80 via Quidco for your first phone).

I sent my sister's phone to Love2Recycle 3 days later then mine to Mopay and was a bit worried as I haven't heard about that company before - and she already has her payment and everything!!!

Just an update - I managed to get through to them last week and they said that the vouchers were sent ages ago. I told them I didn't get any and they sent me new ones last Thursday.
    Finally settled.:T

    Hi

I have recycled 3 phones via mopay and had no issues. Quite a clean transaction really, took a little longer than I expected, but I was in no rush and the items were not high value either.
  • Hi all,

Not sure if this is posted in the right place so please feel free to move!!

3 weeks ago I sent off 4 mobile phones to Mopay after they quoted me nearly £150 to purchase them. I stupidly didn't send them recorded delivery as I was in a rush and totally forgot about it.

However, Mopay are now stating they've not received them and theres nothing they can do and just suggested I speak to the post office (which i have done and they can't do anything either).

I feel I'm just being fobbed off and possibly that they've even received the phones but as I can't prove it they're not paying me.

Has anyone else had problems with them?

  • I've merged your post with the official discussion thread which if you read back some other people do seem to have had problems.
  • I got a quote from them for 30 old phones several weeks ago. It was a good price, so I went with it. They were collected 25/11 then, out of the blue, I received a cheque from them on 7/12, but it was nearly £80 short on the price I'd been quoted.

I spoke to them and they said that 3 of the handsets were faulty. This was fine as I knew a few of them might not be up to scratch, but the price difference did not cover the shortfall on the cheque.

Two weeks of chasing later and I still don't have a resolution. Keep getting fobbed off, calls not returned, and am told they are waiting on a "warehouse faults found report" (not relevant!).

I'm not giving up and will escalate via Trading Standards and small claims court if necessary. Its a matter of principal!

Mr Mopay, if you are listening, please do the right thing and pay me what you owe me. Speak to Raff - he knows who I am. It would be nice to report back here that you sorted things out.

  • Exactly the same as Vincenzo. I regret not sending it by recorded delivery! Have heard nothing again aback from them and am currently emailing basically saying that either the postman has stolen it or they are planning not to pay me! Will not be using them again and have told them that I would not recommend using them. If you do definately pay for recorded delivery - ignore there Freepost. Very disappointed. Lost £60..
  • After posting a note on here and chasing again, I did receive the outstanding money from Mopay. It was a shame it took so long and was such a chore, but they did cough up in the end. I wonder how many other customers are not as persistent as me though... ;-)
  • Same happened to me :-( currently emailing them at the moment...good luck!
  • Heimi- any tips appreciated :-) I posted my mobile approximately one month ago

I sent an iphone 3G to mopay last week Royal Mail confirmed delivery Thursdsy morning. However by Friday morning my account still said awaiting delivery.

I sent them an email asking whether or not they had received it and provided the tracking number.

A few hours later I got an email stating that it had been received, tested, and that payment of £160 had been scheduled.

Happy days, I thought, however I wanted to double check something on my order so I gave them a ring, and was told that my order was currently being tested, this was about an hour after being sent the email.

A couple of hours later I got a further email stating that my order had been received and was scheduled to be tested soon!

I spoke with them today and was told that BACS payment had been issued and should be in my bank by Wednesday, I'll keep you updated.
