  • Hi,

I sent a DPA letter to Alliance and Leicester. The acccount was for a company that I used to have. They sent a list of the charges, but they did not give me the statements, because they said that:

"The account information, which forms the contents of bank statements and manual intervention records you have requested, does not relate to an individual, but to a company"

They said that they could send me the statements, but that I would be charged £5 per statement...I do not want to pay £5 per statement.

OK, so I am now not in a position to find out which charges were as a result of overdraft charges due to excessive bank charges.
    What do I do now?

    Please understand that:
    a) I want to post my reply to this letter TODAY
    b) I am prepeared to lose out in 20 odd quid in interest etc (due to the fact that I can't tell exactly which charges are overdaraft charges)

I think that I shoud do 1 of things, either:

    1) send in the consumerActionGroup "Preliminary approach for repayment" with an estimate of the interst I was charged.
    2) send in the consumerActionGroup "Preliminary approach for repayment"

What should I do?I repeat that I want to be in a position to reply today.

    Please reply asap.

    Many thanks,

    yogi

Many thanks Shaun. Gotta say that if you guys were not around I dont think I could have gone through with these claims.

Your advice so far and the comments from other users, as well as other personal experiences, have given me the drive and determination to actually do something about these companies who think they are above the law.

Ill have to put my thinking cap on now and try to remember how I have had accounts with.

Does this mean I could claim against previous mortgage lender, previous credit card companies etc.... as long as they were within the last 6 years. ( exept mortgage 12 years) ?

    Bit greedy arnt I !

    Thanks dudes...your the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what a load of rubbish, they are to incompitent to work out who they sent a pre-paid envelope to, and if they knew there was a letter to be paid for then why didnt they pay for it?
natwest are terrible for this, if only they were so consciensous when apply the charges.

recieved a letter back from natwest this morning in responce to the 2nd letter we sent out at the beginning of the week it says...

thank you for your patience while I have been investigating your complaint about charges dating from 2003. I am not yet in a position to respond to all your points in full because I am awaiting confirmation of a way forward from Natwest Customer Relations Unit.

I am extremely sorry to have to keep you waiting, but rest assured, I will contact you again within the next two weeks.

In the meantime, if there is anything else you would like to raise with me about you complaint, please call me on . blah blah blah

not quite the response we was wanting at this stage to be honest, we expected them to do some stalling, But what do we do now? do we just file the court claim NOW (like we want to) or do we have to wait two weeks?
