No you don't get it. Do your own business in your own time, then you deserve respect for fighting your case. Period period period!

Whats wrong with you? I am in my own time. I work from home on company equipment. This is fine by them. I'm at home taking care of my children. You know nothing about me. How dare you?

I'm very sorry, if my request for help offended anybody. I have now recieved the template which I needed but would still like help over my question relating to my bank stating they only store statements for two years. If this is freeloading then I truly am sorry I would hate to offend anyone but I also genuinely fail to see what the problem is
  • Hi,

I sent my DPA letter to my bank requesting and they replied within the 40 days with copies of some of my bank statements and a letter saying older information and data on manual information takes longer to extract. Its been about 3 weeks now and I've not received anything else.

what should I do next? Wait? Write another letter?

    thanks

    Hi lindsay-Lou

The same thing has happened to me. I phoned my bank this afternoon after waiting for about 4 weeks. They apologised a lot and said the rest of the information I have requested would be posted within the next couple of days. They said they seem to have been inundated with requests regarding unfair bank charges! I know all correspondence should be made in writing but I took details of the person I was speaking with and they seemed really nice and helpful. So one way of another it should be worth getting in touch again.

    Hope this helps.

Hi all, amin a bit of a quandry lol....Have banked with Nat West for 16 years, have an OD facility of 5000 am currently at 3000. Have just written to request all of my statements over the last 6 years and am about to post it, but, am worried to death about them closing my account!! Has anyone had this done by nat west, and how many of you have been successful in your claims with them? Also (sorry lol), do I wait for 40 days from todays date or mon when they will probably receive it? With kind regards, x

Oh and can I claim for unfair charges on my mastercard? Also with nat west..
I'm counting from the date of probable receipt. Yes, you can pursue a claim for the Mastercard charges.

However, now they have given me 30 days notice of account closure...What I'm wondering however, is there anyone to complain to about the account closure? And is there any letter formats with which to reply to the bank with?
Nobody has to do business with you. Any bank has the right to close down an account (for whatever reason) by giving 30 days notice (in case of emergency or suspected fraud even without notice). Just as you have the right to close down your bank- or savings accounts.

Mail order companies, quite frequently, close down the accounts of customers who have too many returns.

    Well, is a free country!!!

i recently had a letter from the halifax informing me of a £39 charge for missing a DD to my gym (my fault, completely forgot about it and moved money from my account into my savings account!).

i've been with the halifax for donkeys years, i've had charges before (when i was young and stupid with money), but not for a good six or seven years and have a substantial amount in my halifax savings account. is there any way of claiming back the charge, or asking politely for it back as i did have funds to cover it, just in the wrong place.

what would be the best way to word a letter etc.

any help or advice would be much appreciated

    thanks

    dan
