Sleep to Live Beds

Jeezus Christ! in all my 40 years of life I have managed to sleep on any kind of beds, and have mostly only inherited them for free from family/neighbours. I can't believe anyone would pay thousands for a !!!!!!! bed!! The only beds I have purchased have been from Argos for a sofa-bed one time and a top-bunk another. I paid £20 extra for a firmer mattress, not £2000+ for Nostrum. I did have a pretty poor mattress at one time and used to wake up with back pain, but the Argos mattress sorted that.
My mum just recently went to an independant just over the road from her, she couldn't fit a double in her room where she wanted it, but didn't want a single. No problem, they could custom make a bed and mattress to her specification. They even came round and measured up. It was manufactured, delivered, and even installed within a week. Price - £160 all in!0 -
I ordered the 900 late on Saturday, simply because the one in the shop was the comfiest thing ever. I'm really regretting it now I've read some of this thread and reviews elsewhere on the internet. I didn't pay a deposit or anything, I got signed up for 2 years interest free credit with Ikano Loans. I'm going to go back this morning and cancel the order. It wasn't due to be delivered until 10 May, the sales woman said they're made to order, so I'm hoping there isn't a problem with cancelling it.0

Well for those of you that are not sure of the arguments for and against Sleep to Live. I was formally a senior executive at Bensons Beds, I was 100% responsible for bringing Kingsdown to the UK.
So here you have the facts:-
1. I could sleep on any bed in the UK.....I sleep on a Kingsdown and I wouldn't swap it for anything......and I mean anything.
2. The Dormodiagnostic system is not a gimmick, it works and it takes the guess work out of which bed is right for your spine.
3. Kingsdown is huge in the States
4. All the major Bed companies pay commission, just like the sofa companies, but the saleman /woman will try and make the customer happy that way they'll recommend a friend, there's no point selling something a customer isn't happy with.
I'm happy to answer any questions

Hi
I just recently bought a sleep2live bed from our lovely (hmmm) Bensons for beds, had it for two weeks and major problems with bed, began to gather in the middle, and we now have a lump in the middle of the bed ! great eh !anywho ! contacted bensons customer service (if that's what you call it) takes between 15 to 30 min for them to answer the phone, then your are told to go see the store ! who, inturn send you back to customer service, they will not let you speak with any manager nor will they agree there is a fault with the bed (sent pictures as best as we could), we asked for a refund as we were within our rights to reject the bed, but hmmm NO ! we will offer you a chance to buy anything in the shop up to the value of the mattress only ! as a management (who we still have not talked with) good will gesture ! whooopeee we can have anything up to the value of the mattress ! great
but we would have to keep the base and headboard of the original bed :rotfl: unreal.
Aywho ! my advice is to keep far away from Bensons for Beds ! their customer service is very very poor if any at all, kingsdown well I dont know if this was a one off or not but we will be taking them and bensons to court ! to try get our money back.
keep up the good work Bensons for beds ! soon maybe ! very soon we will get some truthfull answers from you ! :rotfl:
That reply above must have been thier only manager cause we can not get a hold of any :rotfl:0 -
Today had a fantastic salesman in Bensons (Farnborough). We got +£200 off on a STL 700 series with free delivery. In business travel for work I have slept in some of the top hotels all over the world. My favourite mattress - The Four Seasons Hotel group. I believe their mattresses are made for them by Sealy? Well that's what I am led to believe. I have a dodgy back (from work) and today decided to go and find a new mattress. Checked out quite a few and settled on, as it was just the most comfortable, Sleep to Live 700. Tan & Red , it arrives on the 17th, will post what it is like but have high expectations unless I have been completely sold down the river instore!0

Slightly concerned that on American forums the mattress in store is built differently to the one you receive. Anyone have any experience of that here in the UK?0

Hi all
Just a wee update to end this one !
In the end I had to take Bensons for Beds to a small claims court in order to get my money back from them, this is the only course of action left open for me as they refuse to answer any questions, anyway ! like I said took them to court and won my case and it cost them a few hundred pound's plus a full refund :j
So dont be scared to take this kind of action its not expensive and seems to be the only way to make companies like this take heed
Here's one for the small guy :T0 -
We bought a sleep to live 700 series in Nov 2010. Within 3 months we had sagging of over3.5cm each side and the matress had a ridge in the middle which meant that there were two hollows. I should add that neither of us is overweight. The matress was relaced eventually and we had a new one in May 25th. This has done exactly the same. We have had the manufacturers warranty assesment kit and they have assessed it as requiring replacement. We are not willing to accept this and are currently trying to obtain a refund. In their defence I have to say Bensons were helpful but Kingsdown beds call centre pass you form one rep to another with promises of calling you back and contacting the manufacturer! We await the result from Benson beds regarding our refund!! Would I recommend them-NEVER!0

I have in the past 4 months bought a Sleep to Live Mattress 500 series and we chose hard (for me) and medium (for my wife) and can honestly say that we have never had a better mattress. We are both in our 60's, have three grown up children and moved house several times over the years and so have had many types of mattresses in the past and this has been far and away the best we have bought. I can understand that some of the posts below have had issues - with the supplier (we did not and they were very good throughout advice, purchase and delivery - all top notch), the fact that the mattress seems to soften at the extreme edges (this is the case with all the memory foam matresses we tried (8) due to the technology but I can honestly say that this occurs only when sitting on the very edge of the bed. When you are lying down and in slepp positions, the whole bed takes the pressure and evens everything out, much the same as a water bed. I would say the best nights sleep we both have had and this mattress has helped my wife get a good night's sleep no end with regards her lower back pain.0
