Whoa I step over to the DFW board for a second...

EVERYONE - please be nice to eachother... otherwise I'll have to close this thread down too until Abuse can review it!

Breeding is a very emotive subject and yes I think the majority on here (not all by any means) are against breeding.
Am I against breeding? Well there is no simple answer to that... I am and I'm not. In THIS exact time and place then I am categorically against breeding because there are already hundreds of dogs more than normal being dumped due to the economic climate.
Under normal circumctances then I am not against breeding so long as it falls within my view of responcible breeding... That means someone has done a lot of research on both parents lines and have shown them and have proven them to be good specimens of their breed (and preferably not too closely related... a pet peeve of mine if you'll excuse the pun). Or alternatively they have chosen the two parents based on their acchievements - working dogs forexample that might never win in a show ring but are great workers - like spaniels, GSDs, JRTs etc - there are many being bred not because they will ever win in a show ring but because their lines are working lines and proven as great working lines.
Even in those circumstances then I think it is prudent to wait a couple of years at the moment and see if the economy doesn't right itself a bit so that any dogs you do breed will stand a better chance of a secure home.

And I still think that if you have any more questions about the gadget in question you will be more likely to get any answers will be on a breeding board - apart from anything you'll probably find more people are likely to be able to give you their experience on the product than here on a money saving board - which as I was trying to tell you - is in the majority frequented by people who are against breeding so you are unlikely to get many who have tried the product.

I'm glad you did get some usefull answers though.

Sorry Steph, I can't see anything which MrsTine has done wrong.

You requested that the thread be deleted - board guides can't delete, but can lock, so the thread was locked but you're now complaining because you would have liked to have posted on the thread? (If it was deleted you wouldn't have been able to either, so your complaint about that makes no sense)

To be honest, it appears you're making a mountain out of a molehill and reading into things which just aren't there.

UK Tigerlily...Your post was inferring that it was not OK to discuss anything to do with breeding on this forum. You told me you hoped I did not breed, as did another poster. If I had been posting about pregnancy testers on another board, and someone had told me not to get pregnant because it was wrong economically, or there were plenty of children for adoption, there would have been a hullaballoo.

It seems to me I am not the one making things up. It was quite obvious the moment I mentioned breeding I was being told (admittedly politely) to go away.

This is what angers me, and is making the 'knot in my knickers' grow bigger by the minute.

when I was told in no uncertain terms by other posters that I should not be breeding in the current economic climate

    Would that be:
IF you do want to go ahead with breeding can I at least suggest waiting a year or two unless you're planning on keeping all the puppies?

I'm not sure how it's possible to be more polite. Perhaps "may" instead of "can"?

I asked for a thread of mine to be deleted by the BG on another board ( it contained information from another poster that could have identified the family being discussed.) It was deleted immediately.

    Steph

I remember that thread and it was clearly a child protection matter and dealt with appropriately quickly. Shagging dogs is an order of a different magnitude and doesn't necessitate the same urgency.
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

I did say in the OT that I hoped we could all agree to disagree. However, thank you for your comments, and I appreciate we all have our own opinions. In hindsight, I AM sorry if I pointed my finger at you, but it genuinely seemed to me that the thread was closed, but left viewable, at an inappropriate time.

You would be surprised at the number of people who have PM'd me that are dog breeders, who come here for MS information about their dogs, but know that because the majority (as you say) are so vociferously anti breeding that they just keep quiet.

    Shame.

Absolutely - if that is the case there could have been massive implications, ethically and legally, which would have made it essential that steps were taken to ensure it was deleted immediately.

:rotfl: lol - yes, you are quite right!

I mentioned the previous deletion because from that, I wrongly assumed it was a matter of the BG clicking a delete button. It had nothing to do with urgency.

I read what is written, not into things. Yes, I hope you don't breed. So what? I'm entitled to an opinion. I didn't then go on to tell you why etc I said that's for another thread & where to get help. I said your post is fine here & tried to get you some help knowing what'd happen. Just because most of us are anti breeding doesn't mean we're telling you to go away, nobody did. If you're going to pick threads apart at least go with what is written & listen when people try to explain to you what is meant, I already said for the 3rd time now, that the first post I typed to you wasn't written wonderfully, but it was written to try to help you as I thought you might be fairly new & didn't want to see you hounded. Still, you believe what you want even the best of us have delusions :p

Oh just a quick warning btw - if Abuse remove the thread they won't warn you or explain why they remove it - so if it suddenly disappears it'll have been pulled by Abuse... Just in case it does get removed - thought I'd prewarn you that they won't usually notify you or explain why they have removed it :)
