He could have given any reason or any explanation and you wouldn't have believed him! You had all already decided he was guilty before you had even got the response.

What is it with women that makes them think that anyone with a c0ck is incapable of being truthful or faithful?

The OP is the one who is parters with this guy, and surely the one best placed to see if he is telling the truth or not. Personally, I found the bit about him telling her immediately without any hesitation particularly reassuring - he obviously wasn't expecting her to ask because he didn't suspect her of looking, but was able to offer an instant explanation...sounds like he's telling the truth to me.

I keep all my texts and just "Delete All" when it gets full, whether they are sent in error or not. The OP saw one text on his phone - how do any of you know there wasn't another further down the list apologising for sending to the wrong person?

You are all so quick to be suspicious and disbelieve but I wonder how you'd feel if it were YOU that were accused. Assuming, of course, you were innocent.

ah a lone post of sense amongst six pages :T:T

I'm wishing you the very best of luck CarliJ, I know the feeling of not knowing whether it's true or not and having had the 'explanation' given to me saying he hadn't cheated.

It's gut-wrenching,heart breaking and even worse when you've been together a few years. Why would anyone who loved and trusted their partner suspect them of cheating? Why would anyone who loves their partner cheat in the first place?

In our case, the 'real truth' did come out in the end, we talked about it and got over it.

You could well be right. But the OP asked what we thought...so we told her.

Of course she's the one who is there with him and knows him but we were asked for opinions on the information she gave....and to most of us, the information she gave indicated there might be a problem. She may never find out for 100% whether we were right or wrong (tbh, I hope we were wrong, I'd be happy to be wrong in this instance) but your comment highlighted above is just unfair.

I do think that those who have been cheated on themselves tend to pick up on things that others may not see as a problem though? Not because they are now suspicious of everything but just because the words or actions of others are the same as in their experience of being cheated on. If that makes sense?

We don't. It's just texts left on mobile phones from ladies expressing that the thing that they were doing together with your man is doing their head in...do tend to worry one slightly.

And taking the phone into the toilet in case a doddery family member needs them...a tad far fetched. I'm sure the relative could wait until the Other Half had completed their ablutions.
