I cut my mooching short though cos it was a bit too cold, wet n windy, so came back home & spent a nice hour or two having coffee n chat with next door. :p

Got to take OH to his Physio at 3pm, so just got an hour to catch up & do some emails etc, before having to leave for his appointment.

Angel - that's terrible! Fancy spending that much money and on yourself as well!!!

Welcome to the new posters - they're a friendly bunch on here so you'll soon fit in.

JP - Your FIL sounds wonderful! I just can't understand why people can't be happy for each other - well I can, jealousy! My dad was very unsupportive when I changed jobs and became self employed. It's only since I've done courses at a big hospital near me and become involved in my local hospice that he's become interested - he now thinks there must be something good in what I do if I'm allowed to work where I do!

Lots to do today - paperwork for the business and 'sort out this hovel' jobs to do too.

(I'm a holistic therapist and specialise in working with cancer patients and in hospice care).

LOL JP - I bet :) I don't suppose you know a good supplier for silver look craft wire to make a crystal bouquet? I have foolishly agreed to make one for a mates wedding ;) Looked up the instructions and decided it was within my "ability" (it's long strands with crystal beads on arranged prettily... not all THAT complex lol even for me!)

i usually buy mine of ebay as they are abit cheaper on there than anywhere else, especially if they come from china, just have to be carefull that the seller is genuine most are but a few will send fake crystals.

ill try and find the seelers i use for you and post it on here later

crystal bouquets are my next addition they just take alot of crystals depending on the size your after and alot of sore fingers lol
back to comping in 2017, fingers crossed

Was that Angel that I saw going out? I am pleased that she is having some much needed me time:D

MrsT - I have spoken to the HMRC quite a few times and they have always been helpful and friendly - I have a class 2 NI exemption certificate and get my WTC too - that's what keeps the wolf from the door and pays my bills.

JP your FIL sounds like a card - fancy stealing money from his own family, what a snake. There is nothing worse than when family don't support you - my own family is the same, I have always known that I am a huge disappointment to my mother so now I do my own thing and don't visit that often nor do I tell her anything as its none of her business. I think she is jealous because I have travelled and yet she is too vain to have a photo taken for a passport and so has never gone anywhere - the furthest she has been is to the channel islands and you don't need a passport to go there:rolleyes: You are better than them, plus with John's job you get to travel the world..whereas they stay at home. Don't let them drag you down as they're not worth it - keep a hold of your positive thoughts.

Welcome GothDolly - yes we are all procrastinators here - sometimes procrastination is good for the soul:D

MrsT - I organise corporate events, plan weddings and manage a rock band:cool:

Have a good day everybody..I have to nip out to collect my bank card from the bank (normally its delivered:rolleyes:).

oh i got the money back, they decided to bank it for us in the end, just dont see that they ever did anything wrong and it was perfectly acceptable, despite because of johns job we asked for money so we could get what we needed for our house when we moved rather than struggle to get it all in a little car, so all we had was the money wich ment i ended up with 3 wedding gifts to open when we got back.

Horace is one of our hip and with it members.

hi to new members as well, we are a good bunch on here i love coming on here.

I'm thankfull for my folks my dad treats john like a brother they are so close and when we set up this business they have been unbelievably supportive they told us not to go to the bank for money to ask them and mum is makng some things for me to sell as well, shes so clever just of work sick and this has given her something good to focus on wich will hopefully help her get better, id love it if she left the hospital and worked with me full time, we would be great together.

Do you live near your friends Mrs T? My parents live in Aylesbury and I moved to Reading 18 months ago. I play netball in High Wycombe and know it and Thame very well!

Just north of Aylesbury ;) Where the shopping village is hehehe (which ironically hardly any locals ever go to LOL) I used to live just down the road from them many years ago which is how I really got to know them :)

Oh that would be great! I don't know that I could do loads of them I have to admit! But she's a good friend and money is tight for them so I offered to do it cost for her (actually I'll pay for the crystals LOL so she'll only have to pay for the wire, but I still want to keep the cost down for her :) she doesn't know I'm buying the crystals lol)

Starx - lucky you! festival place is a far cry from what the shopping used to be like here. But you want to come during the week if possible as the weekends are manic.

laurelbeads and maxu are both very good sellers and usually offer free postage wich makes them very good value, and they are proper crystals i tend to use these 2 but there are a few others as well. not sure if gem junction and noseks just gems are also on ebay.

Hi Mrs T & Gothdolly! Welcome along. I am a fellow procrastinator, moaning & grumbling, short irish bird who owns a saddlery/horsey shop. I also repair horse blankets & I have the grumpiest OH known to mankind. He snored like a warthog last night to the point where i did seriously consider the frying pan and a pillow!

JP, I would ignore your inlaws (easier said than done) as they are obviously jealous of you having the guts to start your own business.

Mrs Tine, the folks at HMRC are ok to deal with, any time I have had cause to ring them.

The OH (here she goes again!) was in foul form this morning - we are in the process of negotiating new premises for the shop - bigger place for a quarter of the rent, still in the same town, about half a mile from where we are at the minute - and what was he telling them to stick the whole thing over.... 2 plug sockets. Yes. He was prepared to loose a saving of almost £20,000 off the rent for 2 poxy plug sockets that at most would cost, oh, less than £20. There are brains there somewhere. So tonight, he's for "the good of the business" talk as I cannot be doing with the nonsense.

Rant over. Horace, I made your pudding last night - yum yum in my tum!
