Hmmm speak speak?
!!!!!! - although recently merged with them my "contacts" can't access their network yet to check the line
if it had been the old Tsktsk then I could have called in a favour
In the mean time check what your line should be capable of http://www.samknows.com/broadband/checker2.php?p=llu
it will tell you how far you are from the exchange too - the further away you are the lower the speed and if you can't get LLU then it can bring a whole host of it's own problems
However if your connection keeps dropping it's worth calling support - could be either water in a box or a bad pair at the exchange(could be other stuff too but those are the most common

MrsT - the HMRC are really quite nice helpful peeps - its only when you owe them money that they start to get nasty:rolleyes:
Oooh..I have just been invited out by a man:eek: Shame he is married..he was offering me a lift to the breakfast meetings tomorrow and Wednesday but I have declined because I am skint and I have a meeting to go on Wednesday anyway. He invited me to another business thing too but I can't go..skint, I have spotted some Music Manager Forum courses that I want to go on but once again..I am too ruddy skint to go:mad: One good thing, I have contacted the band and asked them for a small bio along with a photo as I want to submit their CD to something called London City Showcase which takes place between May 5-8 2010 - its for new and emerging talent so it fits my chaps to a t.0 -
well im of to bed soon, my amazing few days have come to an abrupt end thanks to my sorry excuse of a FIL, hes the most obnoxious man in the world and as from tonight is banned from poning or coming to my house again. they have been completley unsupportive of my business i thik they see it as not a real business, constantly interfere, told me my baby girl wasnt a girl until she was bigger and wore dresses. then tonight because john said jokingly (and he was laughing whe he said it) that he didnt want him on his friends list on facebook, he kicked of big time and refuses to speak to john now, we wouldnt mind but hes always complained facebook crashes his computer as its full of viruses, hes only set up an account because my status today read about us possibly moving to cornwall, we dont even know where we are going anymore the raf keep changing it. Grrrrrrrrr that man, does anyone want a new FIL and a mother in law that will open all your wedding cards on your wedding day and take all the money out?back to comping in 2017, fingers crossed :beer:0

As I have a FT job too would I still qualify for the low SE limit thingy where I don't have to pay I think it's NI? I don't mind paying it - I just don't know if I should apply for it?
I'm useless with NI but my understanding is that you would normally pay class 2 NI contributions which is something like £2.10 per week for your self-employed job. But if your self-employed earnings are low (which yours will be) you can apply for a small earnings exemption certificate so you don't have to pay. I think for this, your two jobs are treated separately - but please don't take my word for it, check with the hmrc!

JP that is horrendous - they took your money? that is just awful. Sounds like you are better off distancing yourself from them if possible.
If they don't support your business, it sounds like jealousy to me. At least you are trying to do something while you are a SAHM. My in laws have been nothing but supportive and I have to say that being so far from my family I really rely on my husbands family and they are brilliant.
Just carry on as you are and do it in spite of them - that will show them who has the talent...0 -
Morning :hello:
Just popping in quickly before dashing out to Bank & things.
JP - Sorry to read about the in-laws, it's really horrible when situations like that happen.
I'd tend to agree with Megs comment, I've seen (and been on the receiving end before now) of un-supportive friends & family. A lot of the time it is unfortunately down to jealousy or envy that you've had the courage to go out and improve your life.
But, sometimes it can also be down to fear. Many people fear change - change by others close to them as much as situations - and the impact it "might" have on them, but it can come across in an agressive kind of way.
The fears may be groundless, but it doesn't make it any less real to someone who feels it.Hold on to the positives you've had this last week JP, hold your head up & be proud of what you HAVE achieved.
Right, I've been "told" to go take some "me" time this morning - no "working" & out of the "office" ... so off to the Bank (must do) then maybe have a window mooch in town (no spending!)
G:A xx

yep his mum said they didnt want it in the house so they opened all the cards and took it out. we found out on honeymoon ended up arguing and being told to grow up and forget about it!!!!!.
The thing with my business is im not allowed to be a SAHM i have to go out and work and help with the house rather than be a f r e eloader. plus im not a civil servant so it doesnt count as work. We asked them to let people know about my Reebok fair and they refused saying poeple dont need my stuff.
His dad loves a joke at someone elses expense but when you joke back he has a hissy fit.
Ah well, a few less christmas presents to buy and one less mortgage to pay of if i make it big with my tv channel lol. as far as im concerned he isnt welcome to come or ring here again, they only ever undermine us with the kids anyway and never offer help even when i had my crash, if we are struggling we get told well use a credit card.
why wont it let me write f r e e l o a d er?
Hes always been the same angel everyone else is always wrong and only he knows whats happening, weve been told we can move to a camp thats to far away and alsorts, like yeah we have alot of say in things like that.back to comping in 2017, fingers crossed :beer:0 -

Guessing someone might have used it excessively in the past in a negative name calling context so it's been added to the swear filter
Have lunch planned with good friend who is also going to witness daughters passport application so after lunch I'll nip to the post office to get that sorted (more money *sigh*) as getting prickly reminders from the parents about not having been home yet. Then I need to call my danish bank as I can't remeber my log in details grrrr it's where all my birthday and christmas present money goes in but I also need to send some to my brother for him to get a few things for me in case I don't make it home before christmas...
Then I need to call the HMRC... I know it isn't really scary - it's just that I've never been involved with them before so it's a huge unknown
Now being dead nosey... I do IT work mainly (or will be) and a little admin ad hoc - but what does everyone else do? I'm guessing there is some crafts involved going by a couple of postersBut I'm really curious about what they are
Don't worry I'm not in the least skilled in that area lol so no chane of me nicking any ideas :rotfl:

Don't worry about it - they do try quite hard to make things easy for people who are just starting out with a little self-employed business, so you should find them very helpful. And to be honest, the amount of money involved is very small as far as they are concerned, so as long as you keep records so that you can get your tax return done & paid on time, I'd doubt you will have much more contact with them.
