Bikini Waxing?

Great first post eh?
I am going on holiday soon but the problem is my bikini line. Usually i shave but the next day the regrowth starts and goes spotty and itchy (its the regrowth honestly)
I've tried creams but this just does the same thing. Would waxing be a more long term solution? and a tidier regrowth without the unsightly spots.
Does anyone have any experience with waxing v's shaving/creams?
Go for it, you will wish you had done this years ago! The first time is more painful but after that it's ok, just a bit of discomfort but well worth it. I get u/arms, full leg and hollywood every 4 weeks - even when the hair grows back it is much finer and gets more sparse and it frees up all that hassle of shaving daily. It's not very money saving though as it costs me £60 a month...
Also any partner will thank you as there won't be any nasty stubble rash on their skin when getting close
As Emlou said, there is a product called Tendskin which will get rid of any ingrowing hairs - it works really well and very fast.0 -
I still got a regrowth rash with waxing even though I loofah'd like I'd been told to. Same happens when I shave, my skin seems to take badly with the hair regrowing.
to keep the 'outer' hairs tidy I use a mens' hair trimmer and trim the hairs outside the bikini line back to very short but not shaved into the skin, iyswim, there aren't that many of them and they aren't that dark, so I think I get away with it, but bear in mind I'm not sunbathing in a skimpy bikini or anything, so it might not work for you.
Anything is better than a cossie with sideburns each side, though.:rotfl:

mmmmmmmmm thinking moer and more of having my bikini waxed... can't reach it any more and I DREAD going to hospital with a furry foof when the baby is due :rotfl: how irrational am I?

Waxing during pregnancy is fine....though your pain threshold can be different, same as at TOM, it can be a little more painful.
I have even waxed a girl who had just started labour pains, she was booked in for the following week, but started early so she phoned and came in, but thankfully she was still hours before baby made an appearance.
For anyone who finds waxing painful, take a couple of ibuprofen an hour or so before your appointment....it takes the edge off!
so please press my :T thanks :Tbutton x

I'm surprised women think about getting waxed before going to have a baby!!!
I've never thought about ibruprofen pre-waxing, I might try it once to see the difference0 -
Unless you're pregnant because you can't take them when you're pregnant lol Thanks though - will look at getting myself booked in for a waxing
I had it done AAAAAGES ago so think I recall the pain involved lol but as you say - painthresholds can change - especially during pregnancy.
But worth it I think... I hate the idea of untidyness down there :rotfl:
And yes Kaz I am sure nearer the time it will be the last thing on my mind... maybe - it IS one if my little quirks and not being able to tidy it has been driving me up the wall the last couple of weeks lol!DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

I have now completely decided to have my bikini line, underarms and legs waxed as I can't be bothered to faff any more - plus I get a nasty rash when I have shaved. Question is, should I use an electric razor thing to shorten the hair (bikini area) a bit before going? Can they be too long?0

I've had my legs and bikini line waxed monthly for about the last 3yrs. Shaving always resulted in rapid hair growth, and hair removing creams never seemed to do an even, all over job. I would say go for it - the pain is not unbearable, and lasts for only a fraction of a second, and the results are well worth it. The only problem is my waxing lady doesn't do Brazilian's, and I'm really wanting to try one - the effects of shaving don't last even 24hrs before things start to get bumpy and sore!!!! Are Brazilian's much more painful? Are the results as good? I know they use different wax to the leg waxing stuff, and am a bit confused about how it all worksLHS No 2220

I wouldn't bother doing this, your therapist will trim the hair first with scissors if it is too long....if you do it you might leave it too short and then some hair may be left behind as it has to be a certain length for the wax to grip properly. HTH
