Bikini Waxing?

Great first post eh?
I am going on holiday soon but the problem is my bikini line. Usually i shave but the next day the regrowth starts and goes spotty and itchy (its the regrowth honestly)
I've tried creams but this just does the same thing. Would waxing be a more long term solution? and a tidier regrowth without the unsightly spots.
Does anyone have any experience with waxing v's shaving/creams?

for effective waxing you need to try and grow the hair for about a month or it wont get all the hairs so if you havent got enough time before you go then waxing probably isnt the way to go! but it does last for weeks so its good if you can wait. the spots are usually ingrowing hairs so try exfoliating before and after shaving, you dont need anything fancy, just a small handful of sugar or salt will do the trick, and repeat 3 or 4 times a week, or theres a product called tendskin which is meant to be quite good at stopping ingrown hairs.Mummy to

Waxing is the best for this area. I am 47, and only started waxing a few years ago - I was always too terrified of the pain, so I shaved, and put up with those horrible red spots and bumps and ingrown hairs. Then I went on a cruise fo my 40th and thought I would get my legs, bikini and underarm done.
My beautician can get a good grip on the hair (lol) after just two weeks regrowth, and it is left smooth, hairless and stubble and bump free...brilliant.
And....I don't even find it particularly painfulI hate getting the backs of my legs done, but bikini is OK for me.
Go for it...you won't ever go back!
But don't do it yourself!
PS...if you must shave - take the nurse tip and do it dry with talc. It works for no razor rash!Life.

Be brave, get a brazilian.
Once it gets going, its not too bad and its so nice not have to worry about it, especially if you are wearing swimming cossies.

I'm a waxer and would never go back. Only get my bikini done as epilate everywhere else. Too much of a wimp to epilate there!! A good beautician will do it quickly and neatly so don't go for anything too cheap. I pay £7.50 (I think in Aberdeen) and that's cheap but she's brill. Ask around for word of mouth recommendations first.
good luck!! Don't be scared the pain only lasts a mo and it's so worth it!!
xxWhat's fur ye won't go by ye!0 -
Don't leave it to the last minute. you will be a little tender & red the day it's done, & you don't want to expose those bits to the sun that day.
& do hunt for that thread, AFTER you've had it done. Never try home bikini line waxing, it always ends in tears0 -
I get my legs and brazillian done! Only started a few months ago, but definately not going bak now! Trouble free, no shaving, looks better and really not as painful as you would think. Will last your whole holiday0

I m a shaver but would love to try waxing,Is it really sore,im a complete wimp.:o
I like all done though not just brazilian would a saloon do this or would i have to try my self.:cool:Life is short, smile while you still have teeth0 -
I would say if you are a first timer get it done quite a few days before you go (it lasts a good couple of weeks) as my skin gets very red and blotchy for a couple of days and wouldn't want to expose it too the sun.2009 wins: Cadburys Chocolate Pack x 6, Sally Hansen Hand cream, Ipod nano! mothers day meal at Toby Carvery! :j :j :j :j0

A salon would do this, I think a Hollywood is all off, just check what you're getting when you book. For soe places, a Brazillian is just a bikini wax with a little more remnoved- but a proper Brazillian should be all off, i.e. bum and everything except for a small strip! Best to check so you're not disappointed.:T0
