  • I would love to have it done properly but im to embarassed, i know the girls at the salon do it all the time but, i cant get my self through the door.

I use nads, and get my brave face on, i also epilate as far as i can cope with!

I really love nads, ive tried other waxing stuff that you heat etc, but this is cold and water soluble so if you get left with gunky bits you jut wash them away.
It only takes a second to say 'Thanks, you just saved me a few quid!'

Had only ever had legs waxed. Then dd who just qualified as a beauty therapist needed a model for her Hollywood course. I thought no more than sepping up to the plate. Was weird the sensation but it did not bother me at all that it was so personal as both daughter and the trainer were lovely and talkative and made me feel so relaxed. Definately have it again.

If you wax you really do need to exfoliate to prevent ingrowing hairs.

Superdrug do some exfoliating gloved for something like £2.99 a pair and they really are brilliant. Just add a little shower gel and use them all over. They keep your legs and arms smooth and silky.

Don't get clever and use them on your face though, as they are TOO rough.

    Trust me on this :o

mmmmmmmmm thinking moer and more of having my bikini waxed... can't reach it any more and I DREAD going to hospital with a furry foof when the baby is due :rotfl: how irrational am I? :)

There are a few others over on the pregnany thread which have said the same thing.

I have to confess I would be completely freaked out though to think that my (male) doctor would even notice whether I'd waxed or not, or would care whether I had or hadn't!

Thought I'd point you to this thread where we are discussing and giving our experiences of a new boots hair removal system. I've got mine but only done one treatment so far, but if it is going to work (which it appears it will according to all the reviews) then I love it! It doesn't hurt at all and is so easy to do.

    Hope this helps :)

On the subject of pregnancy and waxing, I went on holiday 2 weeks ago and went to get waxed the night before leaving. When the beautician found out I was pregnant, she wouldn't do it. I had looked around on the web, and there was nothing to suggest that it could harm the baby, so I assumed it would be ok. Turned out it was company policy not to wax pregnant women who are under 12 weeks. I take it that it's in case of miscarriage, so that you can't accuse them of contributing to it. I am sure it's not everyone's policy, but worth bearing in mind.

So ended up having to shave - nowhere near as good!! I have only been waxed a couple of times, but it was nowhere near as sore as I had expected it to be. I just never seem to get round to making the appointment!

Thanks for that Fitzio - thankfully that won't apply to me (31+ weeks now :rotfl:) but for others it could certainly be a concern
