I agree. Complete nonsense to say "I've had ONE cashback deal and never had a problem". Also complete nonsense to say their t&c say they may not pay on time - the time THEY prescribe in their t&c. As for us still using them; WE know and accept the risks and I won't complain or cry if I lost out - it's nearly a year since I commenced my last deal with them and a few things (on their side) have changed since then - which is precisely why I wouldn't use them again.
When Lynsey and one or two others reported their late payments a while back I took note - even though my payments (not due at the same time as theirs) were paid on time. The fact that MINE arrived in time did not detract from the warning which people can ignore at their peril. When my payment was late 2-3 months later it's a repeat - especially of concern since they already allow themselves almost two MONTHS to pay up. Of course, we could not mention these little details and let people plunge in based on the good feedback. Anyone believing that would be a good thing to do helps no-one. Attacking the messenger seems to be their game - perhaps they don't understand the rules of the game that actually matters.
When The Mobile Outlet (remember them??) also went bust people sprang up to defend them 'til the very last - and then lost whatever money they had riding with them. Some people will always ignore the evidence and advice based on a LOT of experience with a) cashback deals in general and b) specific dealers.
It always amazes me when people lose (sometimes thousands) on cashback deals when a dealer does go bust and then scream "foul" whilst going in blindly en mass for the free lunch without bothering to look more closely at who they are dealing with and what the risks are. But, then, each to their own!0 -

For your information I've been doing cashback deals for many years and with several different companies. I suffered under coolnewmobile just like many other people.
However, I dispute your assertion that they increased 100% cashbackdeals before they went bust - they'd always been pushing 100% deals, and in fact had started limited the number per household to prevent "professional" cashbackers such as yourself from milking the system. They were also very underhand and made it as hard as possible to correctly claim your cashback, which BMP are not doing - in fact as long as you take a copy of your vouchers and put it in a safe place, claiming your cashback from BMP couldn't be easier.0 -
I wasn't referring to you. However, I folow deals every day and always have for several years and I noticed that the phones on offer were better and cashback deals more attractive in the time leading up to the debacle. The limit on number of cashback deals didn't just "start" but had been around for a long time in their t&c and if they don't like me "milking the system" it's because they prefer people who fail to win their game. However, I think it's far more likely they limited to deals per household in order to encourage customers to take up less attractive deals - but all that is pure speculation.
As for their "underhand" t&c being "worse" than buymobile phones; at that time the regulatory environment was very different and the reason I chose to use Mobile Affiliates rather than Buymobilephones was precisely because Buymobilephones was THE most underhand dealer at the time; it left just FOURTEEN DAYS from the date of the bill to make a claim yet didn't tell people that until AFTER they ordered. Mobile Affiliates may not have paid up and employed dirty tricks in the latter stages but at least its terms and conditions were clear and honest - THIS dealer's was not. Maybe you should have looked more closely at all those cashback deals you've been doing.
The important thing with ANY dealer is, in fact, how they are behaving now - not how they behaved in the past. time and again that's a lesson people have failed to learn at their cost. It amazes me that anyone should attack people who report any dealer who is NOT complying with their own t&c - whoever that dealer may be. Terms and conditions are the very heart of any cashback deal and people treating them lightly do so at their peril.0 -
claiming your cashback from BMP couldn't be easier.
Fully agree with that samba, in fact it's now very easy with them all and probably BMP's is the hardest as they require more (more bills and of course vouchers).
It's the ease now why BMP's could be an even greater risk - too many cashback claims being completed.
I agree with mj and the "pyramid" theory, more and more deals to keep it going..............but how long can it continue??

I've been doing cashbacks for a while and was also caught out by Mobile Outlet in the past... so far BMP have paid within the timeframe, and I've just sent in my latest one so will keep youupdated.
Which, if any, dealers are currently best in terms of paying out reliably, as I'll possbiyl be looking again in a few months? Any suggestions welcome!0 -
*I think* CPW's companies are believed to be better than others with e2save being the first.0

As things stand, I agree - although there's no room for complacency with any dealer. If nothing else they are the least likely to go bust!0

i recently got a mobile contract out on buy mobile phones.net which the gift chosen was a sony vaoi touch screen, the gift had been out of stock and i waited and kept ringing them up all they said was its out of stock currently and you should get it in 28 days of receiving your phone. the phone was sent to me in 2/3 days which was great but i still had to wait and ring up for the gift. finally on the 23rd day running i received the computer in good working condition.my brother and his friends have used the service and say its good, but i am not sure about cash back deals on there0

Just got my latest cashback from bmp - 3 days late but there have been a few bank holidays lately. My bank statement lists the credit as received from A1 Comms Ltd (previous credit was from Buymobiles.net Ltd). Don't know if this is significant. Only one more claim to make now so hope the dealer is still going strong. I think I'll still stick to low monthly contracts in future, whichever dealer I choose, as there is always the risk that cashback won't be forthcoming.0

I'll definitely be avoiding this dealer in future. There is more to this than Bank Holidays - and they are absolutely no excuse in any case.0
