  • I have a 12-month Cashback offer with Buymobilephones.net and I am due to claim my 2nd installment. I have sent my 2nd four months bills (original bills) to them as requested last Monday by recorded mail. The record from Royal Mail shown it was delivered the second day. Therefore, I wrote to the Cashback team via email (cashback@buymobilephones.net) last Saturday asking them to confirm the receipt.

Since I haven’t received their reply, yesterday I sent the second email asking them to confirm urgently, as BMP only allows 21 days for customers to return their bills. That means if BMP ‘does not receive’ customers’ bills within 21 days, the cashback claim will be void.

However, till today I still haven’t received their reply. By next Monday, this 21 days policy will go expired in my case. I don’t know what I should do (as I have sent all my original bills and BMP requires only original bills). Also, I’d like to know from people here if anyone has got similar experience that BMP Cashback team does not reply to your emails. What can you do in such case? Do I have to send them the bill photocopies if they say they haven’t received my original bill? Is this in your opinion a trick of not paying customers’ cashback claim?

Thanks a lot for your advice!
  • I have just taken a phone out with them, I had one last year with no problems, but did not take a phone with cashback.

This time I have ordered one with £80 cash back and a free ipod. The cash should be paid in to my account in the next few weeks.

The Ipod will be on ebay shortly, the phone too maybe, im only doing this to reduce the monthly cost of my mobile bill, I now get twice the calls and texts, and free unlimited calls to my wife.

They are like an online small claims court, goverment run for sorting out anyone who owes you money. They charge a fee but have very good track record. And will deal with ebay problems.

  • I have a cashback contract with Buymobilephones.net (BMP) but I am due to move to a new address. My question is: Do I have to (officially) inform BMP about my address change? I spoke to 3 people in BMP Sales team and 1 answered me yes while 2 said no need. I then asked somebody in C.S. and was told not necessary to change address with them since all cashbacks are paid through my bank account.

Anyone in this Forum has experience of such things and know the answer?

    Thanks for your help.

I would advise them anyway, just to be on the safe side.

    My experience was nothing good.
I bought my phone on July, on T&Cs for 12 month contract it said to send 4 months bills first (Upt oOCt), which I did. In November called them up and find out my claim was rejected and not able to claim any more.
I asked why, and they told me because I sent copies.

I explain several times that in the T&cs for 12 months there is no mention of originals, it was only mentioned on the 18 months contract.

Not to go further....they finnally accepted my claim (after sending my originals) and it has now been paid in January :j

I had a screen shot of the T&Cs from when I took my plan and actually I do have as well an email from BMP too.
I Noticed they now have change their T&Cs and it shows on a separate paragraph that "only original bills are accepeted".

If someone has been con by this Company because of this "Original bills issue before December" note that it has been recently change and you may be able to claim, look your emails and or if I can help I can somehow add this Screen Shot on the Thread. I did complained to Cunsumer direct, but as it was finnally settle did not went further.

I do not think I should be obliged to send originals if the T&Cs change after I accepted them. In any event I prefer not to give them a change and will be sending my original bills next time.

    Hope this helps someone.

I bought a phone from BuyMobileNet last year, and next month am sending my last bills for the refund. There was no problem until now. The first one was a bit slow, but last one was via bank transfer and was ok. No Problem.
  • Hi

I recently got a phone from buymobilephones.net with a free Xbox. I paid a £199 deposit to get the Xbox delivered at the same time as the phone. I sent back the documents as requested recorded delivery but the deposit hasn't been put back on my credit card.

Has anyone else done this? Any idea when I will get the deposit back and what should I do?

    Thanks.
  • Hmm ...

A very mixed bag of experiences from all you good people. Bottom line though, it seems to confirm what I personally found:

I am currently on my second two contracts with bmp. The first ones worked o.k. (with a bit of gentle pushing at times) and I am now waiting for the first cashbacks on my new contracts.

At the end of the day, you will need to appreciate that bmp are not in business primarily to please the customer, but to make a profit. With cashbacks typically running into the £100s, I can see why they would make claiming as complicated as possible (don't get me wrong - I'm not condoning it, simply seeing it from their position).

Since there is no such thing as a free lunch, we will have to beat them at their own game - nothing more and nothing less. If you want their enticing cashback deals, stick to their rules and timeframes religiously (don't forget to send everything registered signed-for), and they will pay.
Fluff it, and they will use their get-out-of-jail-free card.
    That easy.
