Well checked the bill (dated 17th September) and date received (1st October), claim submitted 2nd October...but outside of their deadline. Wrote to them explaining and asking to reconsider and got a abrupt no.

So apart from total frustration with Royal Mail (yet again) we're left with no options - has anyone been able to cancel contracts with Orange as we've still got 12 months to go.

Stupid thing is - we're currently looking for a new contract for OH and son but will avoid BMP like the plague. Now just got to slag them off to anyone who'll listen.

Update. MOney paid ok ~ when they said. Sent next 2 Bills & got e-mail the next day that second lot of cash back will be BACS transfer in December.

I had a cashback contract with them last year and had no problems at all - they don;t seem to have the same offers this year - just free gifts. Does anyone have any opinions on themobilecentre? I am thinking of going through them this year.

absolutely awful have had no cashback and you can only email cashback guess what emails come back

dont bother they do not give cashback and you cant get to them have informed trading standard office about them

I have same problem with buymobilephones no reply to emails etc basically they are a scam and best thing to do is inform trading standards office and the press

I took out a contract with BuyMobilePhones.net in August and just sent in my first cashback claim for my first five bills. I sent the claim by ordinary first class post on Saturday and today I received confirmation:

Hi Mr Xxxxx Xxxxx,

We are happy to confirm that your cash back claim has been received and has been accepted.

Payment will be made by BACS direct into the bank account you have provided us with and should show in your account within fourteen days of the 10/1/2008.

I really can't fault them at all, though obviously I'll have to wait and see if the BACS transfer actually takes place.

That was a very stupid thing to do. This place only gives you 14 days from the date of the bill to claim unless they've changed that (AND don't tell you until AFTER you get the phone). Wouldn't catch me sending it "ordinary post" if I was ambitious enough to ever order a phone from them. I hope (for their sake) no-one else follows that example!
