  • ive only just started to use NO7 one this week after getting it with my £5 off voucher, was £11. Have used a foundation since i was about 13 due to acne and my skin is finally clear and love the cover it gives although the choice of colours arent great.

I looked at no7 yesterday and the lightest shade is way too dark for me, and its got glitter in!!

I need to buy from a store really, when I look at the online colours I just havnt got a clue which one to order. I think I need to try before I buy

I'm another recomendee of ELF (Eyes Lips Face) for everyday wear. It stays on all day, even in the summer, and gives a lovely, even finish. Their Kabuki brushes are only £3.50 and are as good as any other type i've used.

I originally bought the Mineral starter kit with came with mineral foundation, concealer and blush. The blush is still going strong a year later, the foundation is excellent and I have a spare sat in my draer and the concealer is really good for general everyday use. It also came with make up bag an some brushes and wasn't very expensive.

You could always try it out as it's so cheap but surprisingly good quality.
I'll have some cheese please, bob.
  • Bare Escentuals is the one I prefer - good coverage - I have very red cheeks and this covers them completely. I have tried others but this is the one I come back to every time. You do need to persevere with it - it took me about a week to get used to using it so if it doesn't work first time then keep trying. Their brushes are great too.

Some trial and error is inevitable when switching to mineral make up I think.

    I like LilyLolo

    and Everyday Minerals

But I also use Bare Escentuals as well.

You also need a good buffing brush to apply the minerals properly. I use a combination of Everyday Minerals and Bare Escentuals brushes.

I bought the No7 one after reading on the internet that it is better for your skin, I am very happy with the No7 range so trotted of for a consultation, was with my friend, her kids and her husband, so felt a bit harassed and probably didn't spend enough time going through the product with the consultant.

I was told to use the applicator on my naked skin, just on top of my moisturiser, no need for a base foundation product, duly bought the stuff home and found that without the base coat it just doesn't give me the coverage. So I am now using a tinted moisturise with the powder foundation on top, I too find even the lightest shade is too dark for me.

So back to purchasing the No7 compact - mineral was a waste of money for me, lesson, if it isn't broken don't try and fix it!
  • Right...Im going to go to my local Debenhams & have a go at the bare minerals one I think!

I have a code from this company http://www.firstlightcosmetics.com/ for a 25% discount, they sent it to me because I entered a competition to win some of their make up, I didn't win and the code is the consolation prize:) In the email it says I can share the code with friends or family so if anyone is interested pm me:) I haven't tried any of the products or used the site before:)
Thank you for this site Martin

Lilylolo for me. What i particularly liked when I first swapped was the fact that you can get trial sizes for 99p(couple of days worth) so you can make absolutely sure on colour/sensitivity etc. They are prompt with delivery too

 It is a fantastic product if you have sensitive or oily/combination skin.
