I have combination skin and use Lily Lolo. I would never go back to liquid foundation again as with mineral foundation my skin feels like it can breathe. My mum tried it but I think she decided her skin was too dry and went back to liquid stuff.
You can buy small samples from Lily Lolo to try.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Bare escentuals products have bismuth in them which can aggravate sensitive skin. The other brands mentioned on this thread don't contain bismuth and are not irritating.I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care

Hi all!
I have some Lily Lolo foundation which I love- skin feels lovely, shade is great (v big deal for me as I'm of Mauritian descent and find a matching shade feels like a lifetimes work?!) amd gives great coverage...
the only problem for me, is that it doesn't seem to "set" properly, so I end up with a lot of it rubbing off during the day, has anyone else had this? Is there something I can use to help with this or am I just not applying it properly?
Thanks! If you're afraid of the big bad Woolfe....beware of the Mrs!:rotfl:

Every makeover I have had in a department store has always been useless because of the lighting in there. You need to order some samples and try out at home in natural light. I think if you find the right shade you will be pleasantly surprised!I have realised I will never play the Dane!

Lily Lolo are based in the UK and they specialise in mineral make up.
There website is https://www.lilylolo.co.uk or you can get it on Amazon.0 -
I reacted to the LilyLolo stuff, straight after putting it on my skin looked lovely and so naturally flawless but by the time I'd got into work my face had gone very red. I was using the porcelain and it was probably still too dark for my white white skin but I'd have expected to have been orange not red so I think my skin had a reaction to it.
I thought I may have just been flushed or worn too much blusher but it continued until I went back to some liquid foundation.
My skin is the very definition of combination. It's dry and flakey but also greasy on the same areas. It's a right nightmare sometimes yet other days it can look wonderful. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I use a Collection 2000 mineral foundation, it works really well on my skin as I'm quite pale (although I have dark hair) I know it's really good as you only need a little and it doesn't irritate my skin or bring me out in spots (as many liquid ones do)** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **

I do it all because I'm scared.

I have heard that any 'mineral' foundation that is not a powder but rather a liquid for instance, is not a true mineral foundation and therefore your skin doesn't get the same benefits as they are meant to have so it's just like using a 'normal' foundation? Not sure how true it is but it does make some sense.
I'd never go for one of those makeovers. Every one I have seen being done, you'd get plastered in too much of everything, the wrong colours etc and as someone said the lighting is completely wrong to be able to apply makeup properly anyway. Nearly all the sales assistants at the counters are wearing too much makeup and in the wrong shades too, you'd think they'd know or be told!0
