I've learned over the years that when DH does stuff like that, I just leave the room and enjoy that he's taking care of it. He folds towels differently, and always has, and does lots of little things differently. But I decided ages ago that I am just going to enjoy that they're done and not worry if it's done a bit differently. Or I'd drive myself crazy. :rotfl:

Sorry, but if I started ironing, DH would know something was up - not necessarily labour though - maybe my mind snapped or something! :rotfl:

dooleys - we have used Kiddicare and ToysRUs/BabiesRUs for various baby items/equipment. We bought a moses basket at Mothercare for this little one and we like that as well. I have a tendency to find what I like, then go to each site and compare the price/shipping totals and go from there.
Me too on all counts :D
I do leave the room so I don't see him when he's doing some thing 'wrong' but I usually sit here listening and thinking he's doing it wrong :rotfl: I know, I'm a bit mental!
The only thing I've ironed in the last year is a shirt for OH to wear to a memorial service:o

Back from my physio appointment... well that was a waste of time! Group session of about 10 people - got shown the spine and had ligaments etc explained (because I didn't know anything about them at all.... GAAAAH) and how they stretch etc - got shown 3 exercises and told that if any of us still struggled in 2 weeks time to go back to the MW and get referred again! What on earth is the point of that! My midwife could have shown me the exercises if they wanted - it took 2 minutes! So wasted the WHOLE morning driving there and back!

I have no preference to how things are done here cleaning and tidy wise... but I DO refold the towels ;) If they are folded MY way they actually fit in the space we have :rotfl:
And I will clean the loo's myself... I like them gleaming :D

Oh and I don't do ironing... at all... ever... :) DH does his own shirts :)

I have to fold all the washing, hubby is so cack handed at everything I find it painfull to watch! He does carry it upstairs and put it away though.... Was talking to my stepMIL yesterday, she was moaning about having to do everything... (Hubby's step brothers are both in their 20s and don't do anything to help out) I told her she was too soft and there are 4 adults in their house... She told me looking after them all was the most important thing in the world to her!? I told her she couldn't moan about it then lol... My house is a hole... I have too much 'stuff' and nowhere to put it... I need a junk room... It was always tidier when I had a spare room... And no children...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

    Hi All,

Labour vibes to all who need them.

I am feeling really sick today. I am just over 6 weeks and it seems whenever I move I feel really sick. I wandered to the shop at lunchtime and everything was making me feel nauseous. I did take yesterday off work cause I have an annoying cold and had the shakes which was really weird (not sure if this was because I hadn't eaten for a couple of hours:D )

Is it bad that the shop is selling two packets of crisps for 75p so I had to buy two and they are both gone now?

Re the whole notification of labour thing (I have quite a way to go yet!) but both our families live over 200 miles away so they can't just pop over afterwards. I imagine that they would want to come and stay at some point (not in our house) near to the birth. But have no idea how I will feel - do you tend to want your mum handy well your OH goes to work? It'll be interesting to think about over the next 34 weeks!

    Love to all

    Karen
    xx

PS Can't believe we moved to number 7!
Tegan Lily arrived 4 November 2009 (3 days late)

Floyd Peter arrived 9th July 2011 (1 day early) :D

anyone seen the new Take That video for Up All Night?! Bet they had a ball making it.

Am so gutted I can't go and see them in June in Manchester - we got standing tickets and I'll be about 28 weeks, probably not a good idea!
Anyone want 2 tickets? Oh - bit silly asking on here :rotfl:

Glad ur scan went well! Erm no it wasn't me that said to take a pic of scan pic on your phone so can't take someone elses credit! My friend bought me a take that ticket when they were released..before I was pregnant, but Im still planning to go all being well. That just made me remember the last tour..there was one girl there who went into labour during the gig!!! I wouldn't risk going when I was that far on!

Mel, sound to me like could be the start of waters breaking! But Im no expert, obviously!
love my little man he is amazing :j

Karen- Im curious to know why your visiting parents wouldn't stay with you at your house? Is it because you just couldn't cope with living under same roof as them or a space issue? Don't answer if you think Im being too nosey, but I do have reason :o

Hi Karen - no its not bad about the crisps - baby obviously wanted them!

Parents - It depends if you think they're going to be useful!
My mum and MIL live about 20 minutes away, and visited most days for the first two weeks - but did nothing but held the baby while I made tea, entertained the other two children (1/2 term week) and carried on doing normal stuff!!

All the books/pregnancy sites say to take advantage of all offers of help, people bringing meals - but we didn't get any offers of help!!

Out of interest - how many of those with babies/children already, had helpful friends/family around? (Is it just my friends and family that are carp?).

My parents will be staying in a hotel down the road when they visit! If In-laws come, they'll have to do the same. Under no circumstances will anyone stay in my house. It is MY house and I don't want people here. Far too stressful, I much prefer short visits where I can kick them out if I want to.

I'm okay staying with other people, but I don't like people on my territory.
