    Morning All

Happy due date to AF, hope there is more happening your end than mine:p

Mrs Moc - It's funny you mention that about your dh, when I was growing up our house was always a complete pigsty...which funnily enough means I hate my house being a mess. I am definitely not a clean freak and it is often dusty and has mucky windows and skirting etc....But I hate clutter!! My mum used to have piles of ironing, newspapers, toys, dirty dishes, laundry, all sorts just dumped all over the place. It drives me mad, although not mad enough to keep the place spotless:o

I told the MIL the other night that, NO I would not be phoning her to tell her I am in abour, she will hear when the baby has arrived like everyone else...She was really annoyed at first. I explained that everyone would be getting a call or txt as soon as appropriate after the birth, she did seem to calm down a bit, although still sounded off with me.

You childhood home sounds like my house now :D I don't know why my mum still goes on about it I mean my bedroom was a complete pigsty for my entire life, why does she still seem surprised that I'm untidy?
I'm a weird tho I have a ouch of the OCD and have to have certain things in a certain way I hoover pretty much everyday and wash my hands a bit too much but I haven't cleaned my windows for about a year!:o

I will me giving my mum strict instructions to not let anyone know that I'm in labour. I want to tell people in my own time this time (plus I want to make sure everyone is aware that they can't come and visit us for at least a week probably 2!!
The very best is sometimes what nature gives us for free.

Good morning. Labour vibes to MFD and everyone who needs them!!

We're not clean freaks - I find for us it's just a matter of things pile up a bit, then we blitz through and clean it up, then it piles up again for a bit. Not ideal, but we've always functioned this way. I'd like to say that when DD and grandchild move into their own place that it'll be better (more room and all), but it probably won't. MIL would never ever criticise our housekeeping, but my own mother certainly would!!

Thank you AM.. this is why I miss interweb.... reassurance!

Yeah she squished around bump good and proper then told me to put both hands at the top of bump and press alternating hands down...... and then said "Thats your babies head" To which I said.."Oh crap, its the wrong way round". She said yup, but we will double check at your next scan.

    Yay!

Mleh, they had to scan me as they were unsure if they were feeling DS2's head or his butt. About 5 or 6 of them had a go over a few days (I was in the day care unit, hospital and my own mw had a try too) and a couple of the doctors too. Nobody could tell if it was a head or a bum. Turned out it was his bum and he was the right way round, so they can't be sure just by feeling.

Sami - we didn't tell anyone when we were in labour with DS, and it worked fine. Family waited a bit to visit. I will admit, however, we lived further away from family then. So it'll be interesting to see what happens this time. DH's family is very close though, and throughout the pregnancy when they visit, they've all been "oh no, you sit down, we'll get the tea" so they're not like my family that show up and expect you to wait on them, even if you've just gotten out of hospital. Of course, if you have family members that are offended if you haven't called them when you're in labour, that gets a bit sticky, I suppose. Is that an issue?

  • I always say there is a world of difference between dirty and untidy. My house is always clean. It is not always tidy. And that suits me!

Oh, we have a family wedding tomorrow. I'm really looking forward to it. DH has marked it as his last alcohol foray until after the birth. He gave it up when I was 6 months pregnant with DS, and stuck with non-alcoholic beer with me for the remainder, but decided to give it up earlier this time. So we need to add a few extra packs of non-alcoholic beer to the grocery list next time. He's not a big drinker anyway, but it's a nice gesture.

Wow dooley - treble pay would be nice, but I think that would put more pressure on businesses as well - and make them look harder for reasons to refuse to employ women of child bearing years.
