Krystaltips wrote: »Rhesus negative ladies... The midwife at antenatal yesterday said that if your husband was rhesus negative too then anti-d wasn't neccessary.... Have you had your hubby's checked?!
My midwife said "you don't actually need it if OH is also neg - but we give it anyway".
The only reason we could think of was that baby may not be OH's.
OH is positive anyway, so there was no getting out of it for me!:beer:0 -
Cheers Sami
Right - I must, must, must log off and do my work. Lunch eaten so will snack on a big bar of choc while I work and log back on later when it's all gone - I mean all done :rotfl:A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
Where does the time go? :think:0 -
Glam - The scans do just get better and better. Although as we didnt want to know what sex we are having they did kind of rush this one. But still really nice to get an extra scan and see that heartbeat on screen.
Krystaltips - My OH is positive too so not an issue for me but if he was negative I would have told them where to go!!0 -
Hmm chippy chips and gravy. mmmmmm. Full up to top now.0

OH hasnt come near me recently as he has wanted to wait for this scan - he has no excuse anymore!! I have midwifes tomorrow which seems like such a waste of time after today. I find getting about so differcult at the moment too.0

I hope nobody minds if I pull this in from the last thread - I really would appreciate your thoughts:
I've had confirmation today that I can either carry over any holidays I don't use before mat leave till next year or be paid for them. I currently have 4 weeks to take and I am due in Aug. I am thinking of beginning my ML on 3rd Aug (due 4/5th) but taking the week before as hols, so last day in work would be 24th July. What do you think, am I leaving it too late. It's only a small company and I know they would be quite flexible if things were to change! I'm confused!
Just to add I'm office based - so basically sat on my bum all day
Mel - fingers crossed that this could be the start of things for you.
Weezl - thanks for the BS - not sure if it scares me or re-assures me, but you through it OK, so it can be that bad, can it? *need a finger-nail biting smiley* Jonathan is sooo cute!!!
Glam - looking forward to the scan pics. My 20week is next thurs and hoping I can incorporate the pics into Mothers' Day cards for sun.
Positive vibes for MFD!
Hello to the newbies and hugs to anyone that need then!
Think I answered this on the old thread but think I mis read it so will answer it again
Do I think a week off before due date is enough? How long is a piece of string?Seriously!
I was initially planning on working right up to the due date but as luck would have it I have to take x amount of holiday before my ML. I was pretty miffed about it - UNTIL I started having back and hip problems and then work being difficult about me working from home... I'm now going on Annual Leave early - so last day is 3rd of April and I'm not due till 16th of May  however the way my back is going then this is just as well... mobility will probably only get worse between now and then
Would work be happy with you booking holiday at short notice if that was the case?
Personally now I am really looking forward to the nearly 6 weeks at home just me and the pets - time to nest and do bits and pieces and so on. I would say 2 weeks might be better than 1 certainlyAnd by 38-39 weeks you'll be big so you probably won't fancy driving to work every day etc anyway
As for sitting on your butt all day - make sure you get up every 30 minutes! And that your desk etc has been checked by H&S as your requirements will change a lot now you're getting on in pregnancy
And remember not to cross your legsOne of my main offences :rotfl:

I actually find it quite worrying that they are allowed/do say these things!!:eek:
Its no wonder that some MWs don't get enough training in breech babies if women just beleive what the peeps in the white coats say!
Grrrr.
I actually know someone from high up in scotland who had a breech baby and she was given two choices by the consultant... Book in for an elective... Or come in in labour and have an emergency cs... She was so distraut by it she booked a private midwife with experience in breech delivery and had to travel all the way from glasgow to euston on the night train then the underground to this midwifes house... In labour! She had him completely naturally with no pain relief and he was delivered fine... She also put a complaint in about the consultant and the hospital had to change it's policy... Didn't help her after the event though did it...
Oh and my sister was undiagnosed breech and ended up with a cs... And they never even gave her the option of natural, even though he was feet down...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

I think people need to start suing them for stuff like that. I don't normally agree with suing the NHS but I don't see how else they will listen
I have heard from a few diff peeps that the main reason they automatically say c/s is to avoid being sued. I will be doing everything in my power to avoid having an unnecessary c/s!!0
