    Hiya,

Leaving work soon for my booking in appointment at (by my reckoning)12+4 weeks. Actually getting to see a midwife, better book me in quick for a scan if the nucal is supposed to be between 11 and 13 weeks.

No doubt will have to catch up on a good few pages of posts when i return.
  • Rhesus negative ladies... The midwife at antenatal yesterday said that if your husband was rhesus negative too then anti-d wasn't neccessary.... Have you had your hubby's checked?!

My midwife said they tend not to do this and just assume that OH is Positive due to some pregnant ladies not being honest about who the father is.
  • Had my scan this morning and placenta is well and truly out of the way so i can have a normal delivery. They have estimated the weight as 6 1/2 lbs and I am 36 weeks so expecting about a 8 1/2 lb bubs if arrives on my due date.

workinmummy - let me know if RAEI do your nuchal scan as part of NHS scans. I might have next one in Wigan!! Instead of having to go private this time!

MW rang me back - seems that because my mum is Type 1 Diabetic I have to see the consultant at least once (even though the MW I saw at booking in said I didn't!). So fingers crossed they will be happy for me to just have my GTT and if that's normal stay under MW team. I don't want to be going back and for to the hospital - although timed it today and it was exactly 5 mins away! Took me 10 mins to park though but when I'm in labour OH can park outside and then go back and park car once I'm in!

Where does the time go?

I'd find this offensive and put my foot down if it applied to me lol... But I;m a beligerent so and so!

I'm assuming my face was a picture last night when the midwife said a breech baby was an automatic CS.... I don't think so!
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Is the 20 week scan even better?

my hospital do 19 week scans though - is that normal?

  • Thanks Glam - thats a good way of looking at it. It seems my days would be worth £70 each.
Sami - hubby would still be at work so it would just be me. I think I could manage a week or two, but not much more! I get the train to work, so no driving involved, hubby drops me off at the station in the morning and picks me up on his way home :D I can then get a bus/tram to very close the office - and back - so no walking involved at either end.
    So my plan is:
ML to start Monday 3rd Aug - have the week before off . That will leave me with 12 days to play with. I can always stick them in as holidays, if I am finding it too difficult, roll them over to use at end of ML or take then as paid to help through some of the SMP weeks! I don't have to give notice, we're only a small company and I have basically been told I can do what I want :D As you can tell by me posting, it's very relaxed :)

    That's great news!

I actually find it quite worrying that they are allowed/do say these things!!:eek:
Its no wonder that some MWs don't get enough training in breech babies if women just beleive what the peeps in the white coats say!
    Grrrr.

Glam When I looked through everything I could all I could determine is that RAEI deff do the triple test bloods but not nuchal. couldn't find anything that said "we don't do nuchal scan" tho
