Sami - My initial thought was have I wet myself. But I am pretty convinced it's not wee, it doesn't even smell like wee.

Krystal thanks, I was sure I had heard of peoples waters just trickling out continuously..but couldn't really remember. I have put in a big pad and will see how it goes for a few hours and then will phone back.

Mel when my waters "went" they did just trickle continuously I used a tenna lady pad which did the job, when hosp let me home I had to have my temp taken every 3hrs and told not to have a bath or jiggy (not that I would be having jiggy at that point! but some people's go earlier) as risk of infection increases if waters have broken so do make sure you speak to hosp.
It does sound to a layman like moi that its waters tho! (ooh do you have a prompt baby)

well my cupboards are officially bare so no cake in a mug for me!

Thanks FG - no-one else has commented on my scan events yet :p

OH has an Apple Mac with built in bluetooth so I will try and upload it to his lappy later and then put it on here. Might take me a while - don't want to put it on a link - I want it as a photo that people can see on the thread!
OH is going to make DVD's for us to send to people with the scan pic on - much better than faffing around trying to print copies off.

Am I sad having scan pic as my wallpaper on my phone?!! :o
Sorry chuck I got confuzzled byt the new thread and missed replying to some :D
I have Chris's scan as my phone wall paper too
for help getting the pic to show here, go to the help for newbies bit of the forum and ther is an "un official A-Z" click on images and it has instructions ;)
Sorry to hear that the consultant/MW thing didn't go to plan :rolleyes:xx

Thanks Sami - that's why I phoned because I know if they go there is risk of infection. Midwife was sure it wasn't waters! I have had quite a lot of discharge right the way through this pregnancy but not to the point where it soaks right through undies, trousers and makes the seat damp!!

Ah well will monitor it today and phone later if need be:)

mel, i wouldnt trust what they said cos isnt discharge meant to get thicker and gooey-er towards the end? mine seems to have anyway. on a dischargey note, does anyone that has had one know how long the blood stained-ness lasted after? i know everyone is different and she did pull out the bloody show but there seems to have been no let up yet!

I didn't have one but I'm angry at your MW tho I'm sure you ar understandably worried/scared at there being some blood and she hasn't warned you about it or said what is normal  I want to give her a slap!

  • Hello ladies

I hope nobody minds if I pull this in from the last thread - I really would appreciate your thoughts:

I've had confirmation today that I can either carry over any holidays I don't use before mat leave till next year or be paid for them. I currently have 4 weeks to take and I am due in Aug. I am thinking of beginning my ML on 3rd Aug (due 4/5th) but taking the week before as hols, so last day in work would be 24th July. What do you think, am I leaving it too late. It's only a small company and I know they would be quite flexible if things were to change! I'm confused!

Just to add I'm office based - so basically sat on my bum all day :D

Mel - fingers crossed that this could be the start of things for you.
Weezl - thanks for the BS - not sure if it scares me or re-assures me, but you through it OK, so it can be that bad, can it? *need a finger-nail biting smiley* Jonathan is sooo cute!!!
Glam - looking forward to the scan pics. My 20week is next thurs and hoping I can incorporate the pics into Mothers' Day cards for sun.
    Positive vibes for MFD!
Hello to the newbies and hugs to anyone that need then!

she said there would be a little blood for a few hours so i thought it would have stopped by this morning! i think i'm more disappointed than anything, if i was having some pains i'd be quite pleased cos it would feel like progress but theres just silly pointless painless blood!
re-reading that i have decided i really am quite strange...

    Thanks nms

Regarding your holidays, It is hard for me to say really as my jobs have always involved standing all day, so latest I have ever left is 6 weeks before, due to being in agony with my back when standing. Being office based and sat down I would probably leave 2-3 weeks before, just to have some time off to prepare for baby and to chill before baby arrives.
