NMS - I did a bit on ur bum job but I personally couldn't manage to work so late in preg, I think AF has worked the furthest into preg (finished at 38wks) and she said it was really hard in those last couple of weeks her job was sit on bum at comp based too I think.
I personally think 4weeks is an ideal time to have before baby.

Rhesus negative ladies... The midwife at antenatal yesterday said that if your husband was rhesus negative too then anti-d wasn't neccessary.... Have you had your hubby's checked?!
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Thanks Mel & Sami - I think I might need to have a rethink! Although the highlighted bit scares the hell out of me! I think I would be going potty after 4 weeks at home, never mind upto 6 weeks if bubba goes over.

NMS - I would work out how much you would get if you got paid for them - here's my thinking.......................................

If I had 2 weeks leave left and got paid - I would get about £750 after tax and NI. This would be £250 short of my £1000 needed for bills and mortgages etc. So I could save this money and I could afford to have an extra month of on mat leave.

If I carried 2 weeks over - I would just have 2 week extra mat leave.

I plan to work up to about 38 weeks as well.

Unfortunately, they will only pay me for 2 days and let me carry 3 days over - so after my hols 2 weeks and 3 days in June I will have 4 weeks on 09/10 annual leave to add onto Mat Leave.

right need to do some washing, have some lunch and then I must do some work to get more money for extending mat leave!!

she said there would be a little blood for a few hours so i thought it would have stopped by this morning! i think i'm more disappointed than anything, if i was having some pains i'd be quite pleased cos it would feel like progress but theres just silly pointless painless blood!
re-reading that i have decided i really am quite strange...

Em - It doesn't sound strange - I can see where your coming from. I do think you should ask again, it has been going on for a while now :o

A long time ago, but they wouldn't take her word for it that my Dad was definitely the only man she slept with, so she didn't get a choice about having the injections!

The option to check OH was never mentioned to me, and wasn't mentioned in the literature either. I've had one emergency anti-d and two routine ones, and at every point it has been a 'must'.

I suppose it is sensible, it removes the small risk that a woman might fib. The risk of the injections is so small, I'd have had it even if I was 100% sure.

My Nan (a long, long time ago, before they have the injections), lost a baby from rhesus disease.

    Hello ladies!

I had my booking in appointment yesterday. My midwife has told me that I will be consultant led due to having had a caesarean with Ruby. I have to see the consultant sometime in the next few weeks & then again at 36 weeks. Just so they can check how I'm getting on & if they think I will need another section or if I'll be able to have a crack at a natural birth.

I'm not really sure what I want. I could opt for a section & I will then know exactly when I'm going to go in etc but the recovery time can really take weeks. I know after Ruby it took me a good few weeks to recover & this time round I will have Ruby who will be 21 months & a newborn to care for.

The thought of a natural birth after having a 55 hour labour last time is enough to put anyone off! Lol! I don't know...back to back is just no fun at all!
Our 1st baby is due 29th December 2007! :rudolf:
I'm hopeful that this get's me out of cooking Christmas dinner!

Baby Ruby arrived after 55 hours of labour & an emergency c section on Christmas Day at 14.41 weighing 6lb 6oz...And yes I did get out of cooking Christmas dinner!!:rotfl:

I was bored but I physically could keep getting up and driving to work I was knackard!! (although Chris arrived 3 days before my edd and it was chrimbo during my "baby free" time)

also don't forget this is the last time you and hubby can really be just the 2 of you so try to enjoy it :D

i worked up til 36 weeks and i was on my feet for probably 45/50 mins of each hour and up and down stairs, thanks to my lovely sympathetic management(!) though for the last week i couldnt be bothered and sat myself down most of the time and they more or less ignored me! but it was partly my choice to do that and not complain about it too much as its commission based. if i could have sat behind a desk i would have worked later, i have been bored since i finished work.

around here I know they offer to have dads tested for sickle & thalasemia so I'm sure anyone interested in being tested shouldn't have a prob :D
