My PCs are all behind a D-Link router and therefore a hardware firewall. Will this cause me problems in connecting with CW Client?
Dont think so, I dont have a problem with my Netgear router (think it must use port 80?0 -
Many thanks indeed (fbrj). Some great tips there (especially the free Directory enquiry that I wasn't aware of).
Just a couple of things. I looked at dialaround website and their access number to dial a 0845 is (0844 462 6868) which looks different from the one mentioned in your post. I also couldn't find (0888624848####) in the CWclient's Carrier Select List which may suggest that Dialaround have changed their access number since you set up your dialer.
Also did you actually set your dialler up to route Orange and Three calls only through 1899 while using BT for the others? I don't know but are the savings really worth going through all that hassle (couldn't find the actual price list from BT's website). Thank you again.Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????0 -

I think you may be correct re 0845 and Dialaround having a new number - although the one I have it set on still seems to work! They seem to set the access nos in price bands...for example 0844 462 6868 is also the access code for calls to Uganda and US Virgin islands!! (- all at 2p/min)...I will contact Dialaround to check - don't want to find that the 4848 No is now at 90p/min!
I agree re relatively miniscule savings re evening calls using BT for certain mobile calls - I happen to be on tele2 and for their calls to Vodafone the evening rate is 5.6p/min (compared to 10p/min for 1899 and 7.68p/min for BT) - well worth it in my case for my daughter on Vodafone who is away from home quite regularly. In that case Orchid set up a specific routing for her specific mobile number. I haven't bothered with any other adjustments (ie all the others go through 1899). Just for info...the other BT rates to mobiles evening calls are:
o2 - 11.8p/min
T-mobile/Virgin - 8.4p/min
Vodafone - 7.68p/min
Orange - 11.40p/min
three - 16.10p/min
So...I would only bother adjusting if you happen to phone one particular number very regularly - especially Vodafone..during the week and in the evenings.0 -

The reason why you couldn't find it was that I typed the wrong number....
It should have been - 0844 462 4848 [I have amended my original reply]0 -
hi i have windows xp and having trouble running cw client on it. How do you solve it0
-
should be working ok hedge, I'm on XP, and although there was a problem a week or so ago, Orchid had resolved it. Must be an extra problem, contact Orchid to double check.0

When you dial ***12#4567890*3 , what happens next?
Is it supposed to connect somewhere?
All i get is the sound on the other end of the phone that is like the number doesn't exsist!
The dialler has been programmed before it was shipped, and it does light up when i make a call, but i don't hear the "0p per minute" messages first tho', which makes me worry if it is working.
I have tried to phone Orchid, the 0870 goes straight to an answering machine, whilst the other number just rings out!
Can anyone help??0 -
You must replace the handset as soon as you dial the last digit - at that point the LED changes from solid to flashing as it then downloads your routing table. This should take about a minute and a half with the LED flashing all the time.
Some boxes recently sent out had a problem and resetting your box may be necessary if the above instructions don't work and your LED only flashes about 12 times.
