  • Hi

Of the Orchid V4 options, which appear to be the Ranger 400 (cordless), Big Button telephone, and dialer (use with existing phone) what are your experiences or recommendations please?

    Thanks

  • Just a quickie. Does it cost to " call home" ?? & do I need to re set the dialler clock every time I " call home" ???
Have we come to any agreement on who charges the least for 0870 and 0845 calls??

When calling home it costs the same as a national phone call and the dialler clock is automatically updated when you call home.

I've just signed up at https://www.18185.co.uk, but how can I set up my V4 Orchid Dialler to work with this on a NTL line. I have looked through the drop down list but can't find the access number for cable users?

You could always program the dialler manually?

I emailed orchid at about 4:15 today. The access number is now on there. Log in again to CWClient and it will update.

Hi everyone, I apologise for going back to this subject but things are becoming a bit overwhelming here. Could you please confirm that I am using the correct setup on my dialer for the following numbers. I am on BT and using 1899, 18866 and recently 18185.
    1) For mobiles, I am using 1899 during daytime & evenings and 18185 during weekeneds.
    2) For 0845 I am using BT all the time.
    3) For 0870 using 18185 during the day and BT during evenings and weekends.
    4) For 070 I am using 1899 at all time.

Also could you please tell me how best it is to route the directory enquiry calls.

Many thanks in advance to all of you.
Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????

Just a couple of comments (using your No order)

    1) Apart from Orange O2 and three - it is cheaper to call mobiles using BT (rather than 1899) during the evening midweek - ie less than 10p/min for Vodafone, Virgin and T-mobile

    2) For 0845 you could use Dialaround during the day (2p/min). If you set this up make sure you choose 08444624848#### from the Cwclient "Carrier" drop down list - especially the 4 hashes.

    3) Agreed

    4) Not sure!! What is "070"??

Re Dir Enq - this was how Orchid set it up for me:

    a) Under "Carrier" drop down list find: "08000192190 - Free Dir Enq" - save this, and it becomes, say, No. "5" carrier.
    b) Under "Routing" drop down list find: "118*1*9 - 118 DQ Trans" ...give this Attribute "T" - save for all times for Carrier routing "5" (see a) above)
    c) Under "Routing" drop down list find "192 - 192 Translation"....give this attribute "T" - save for all times for Carrier routing "5" (see a) above)

The effect of all this is that if anyone either dials 192 (if they are old enough to remember!!) or 118..something... something ...something it will always get routed through to the freephone 08000192190 number

    Hope this helps....

Many thanks indeed (fbrj). Some great tips there (especially the free Directory enquiry that I wasn't aware of).
Just a couple of things. I looked at dialaround website and their access number to dial a 0845 is (0844 462 6868) which looks different from the one mentioned in your post. I also couldn't find (0888624848####) in the CWclient's Carrier Select List which may suggest that Dialaround have changed their access number since you set up your dialer.
Also did you actually set your dialler up to route Orange and Three calls only through 1899 while using BT for the others? I don't know but are the savings really worth going through all that hassle (couldn't find the actual price list from BT's website). Thank you again.

Looking at getting the V4 dialler but have a question re use of CW Client.

My PCs are all behind a D-Link router and therefore a hardware firewall. Will this cause me problems in connecting with CW Client?
